That joke major is what allowed that Dookie on ESPN to work at a Wall Street Investment Bank and have to take a pay cut to work for ESPN cause he didn't really like Investment Banking and he loves the hours & quality of life being a TV Analyst FOR MBB

Jay Bilas yeah that's the guy that benefitted from one of Dook's joke majors

As expensive as College is in this economic climate, ALL MAJORS at all colleges are really valuable and open up doors to a lot of jobs that the traditional thinking GT Alums don't give enough respect to

A college education is very valuable, even the degrees we GT folks like to laugh at

In the NFL Carolina played Arizona yesterday, Cam was out injured so Kyle Allen was going against Kyler, both were at TAMU at same time on the same QB depth chart and both were there in the NFL

I believe we could make a run at the CFP if we could just get a QB good enough to hold a clipboard in the NFL

Go look at Heisman winners over the last 10 years or so. Kyler Murray, Baker Mayfield, Lamar Jackson, Marcus Mariota, Johnny Manziel, RG3, Cam Newton. How many of those guys fit your big statue pro-style QB mold? Every one of them is short and/or mobile. Jameis Winston is possibly the only exception, but even he doesn't exactly fit the traditional pro style QB mold.

I'm not saying you can't win with a traditional pro-style quarterback. I'm saying you absolutely can win without one, and when you're running the spread, like we are, you may be better off with a mobile guy.

Duke is even worse than that. Most of those wins came against weak out of conference teams. They won 2 or 3 acc games a year and yes sadly 1 of those was against us. Jones was like 10 - 1 OOO and 9 - 18 in the ACC Coastal with Wake as their permanent opponent. Even with some of our very mediocre/bad teams included we would probably average close to 9 wins with Duke's schedule the past 10 years. Plenty of our 7 - 5 years would be 9 - 3 if you trade uga for a patsy and Clemson for Wake.

Most people on here seemed to think Duke has peaked the past 3 years because they've beaten GT but they were actually much better the previous 3 years.

Even with a bad OLine the rules are set up for a decent QB to be able to complete a lot of short possession type routes

A bad OL is only part of the problem

The main problem is that CPJ had no idea how to recruit arm talent or what P5 arm talent even looks like

Among the 70 or so P5 teams we have the weakest QB room, and it's not even close

If CGC recruited either of the two 4* players we have in our QB room, you'd be creaming your pants.

Our QBs are fine. Not elite, but serviceable and with plenty of potential. I'd take our current QB room over any of Gailey's. They just need time to learn how to sit in a pocket and throw accurate short and intermediate passes. More importantly, they need a healthy OL that can give them time.

JG was a 4* athlete slated to play DB at VaTech

I don't know how Yates got a 4th * based on the arm talent that I saw multiple times on TV

LJ had no offers from the zillion west coast colleges that look for passers every recrootin class yet they all passed on LJ even the West coast Boise St level programs passed on LJ's arm talent

At some point GT Fans have to become more honest in how we assess the talent on our roster

We had no issues with honest assessment when Reggie Ball was our QB, let's act the same way now

We had 4 years of data on Reggie Ball. You have high school game film and like 10 throws apiece behind an injury depleted o-line that is learning a new scheme on our quarterbacks. You need to become more honest about your process for assessing the talent on our roster.

Edited to add that I like Reggie Ball, he won a lot of games for us, played his heart out, and I appreciate his contributions to our program.

You can't really use the star ranking selectively, to justify your argument but then ignore them when it's convenient (Yates).

I would like to understand how/when you watched Yates 'multiple times on tv' considering he plays high school football. The state championship and semifinal game? is that what you are calling multiple times, those 2 games?

I am well aware of Hudl and YouTube. My kid has a Hudl profile, middle schoolers do. I was calling BS on you watching Jordan Yates on TV outside of 2 playoff games last year.

Milton has had 1 regular season game on TV in the last 3 years. Yea you can go to Hudl and YouTube and recruiting sites and watch highlights but I am calling BS that you've seen him play full games on TV with any kind regularity. I also don't think you can tell much on those highlights compared to watching full game film or evaluating someone live at camps like the recruiting services do.
