Labor Day game - How bad is FSU

The parallel is auburn 2005 season.

They came off an undefeated 2004 season then lost their first 2 out of the gate, gt and Reggie ball playing the role of bc last night.

Its happened before, and all is not lost, except their pride
That would be a great parallel if Auburn had done that, except they won five straight after losing the opener to GT in 2005 (they shut out Miss St. 28-0 in week 2). Their next loss came in overtime week seven to #7 LSU and the final loss in their 9-3 season was at the Citrus Bowl to #21 Wisconsin.

Sorry, I meant 2003...

ACC really needs GT and NCSU to win this weekend, or just like that, down to 3 “ranked” teams. The league has depth, we’ll just have to see how good the depth is in a few weeks. Can’t have anymore VT-Vandy like outcomes.

Why not agree to Ireland? Two ACC schools they can easily handle.

FSU collapses against GT like they used to collapse against DaU back in the day. Hell, without a play or two, they collapse in the 2014 ACCC against us

I do think if Smelter were healthy, we win that one
Wide right.

goddam we really are a tortured bunch of nerds. at least we could always fall back on the countless slutty 9s and 10s on campus for comfort
We had women from all over town at our parties. GT girls had to up their game.

We also were minus Snoddy and Zenon, two of our fastest players, for that 14 ACCCG. Then, for good measure, again without Smelter, Snoddy and Zenon, we stuck a foot up Dan Mullen's ass on New Year's Eve.

O’Brien was Key’s OC here after Freidgen left. Probably know each other pretty good.

O'Brien was the RB coach the whole time Key was playing. Key was a GA in 2001-2, the two years O'Brien was the OC. O'Brien was still in his 20's when Key was playing and only in his early 30's when Key was a GA. I'm sure they know each other well.

Perception is reality when you lose head-to-head games. Just is. And the B1G, sec are clearly better than the ACC, B12 right now. This is in GT’s favor at the moment.

But the ACC had a winning record against the sec last year. Beat sec, doesn’t matter. Should have beaten some other sec team. Sec has been a one team league until recently. And even that looks like it could just be bama handing the torch to uga.

Perception is heavily influenced by bias. Bias is heavily influenced by alumni and state culture. The ACC is popular in NC and VA. Most other states it’s in have other large state schools to follow or prefer pro sports. The Midwest and Southeast love their college sports. It’s no wonder they get the biggest drumbeats for being the best. It’s even slipping into basketball where the ACC is constantly undervalued.

But Vandy beat VT. So there.

And when all eyes were on the ACC, #10 UofL wet the bed against a mediocre UK team. You never know how much a Top 10 win for FSU the next week could have changed the #4 seed in the CFP.

Did you by chance look at the 7-5 head-to-head matchups, and who the teams playing were? FSU, Clemson accounted for 4 of the 7 wins. Other 3 were:

Miami over TAMU
Wake over Vandy
UNC over South Carolina

ACC did its job in those games by beating mediocre $ec teams. Unfortunately, VT couldn’t do the same last Saturday.

1 team league with 3 different MNC winners over the last 5 years? By that logic, what is the ACC, B12, B1G at this rate?

Strength of leagues is from top to bottom. That’s where the ACC runs thin. Middle to the bottom.
