How so?Deion and FSU aren't on the best of terms.

He has steered a few kids away from there in the past few years, and then this year stole #1 HS recruit Travis Hunter from them on signing day.How so?
Per national “insiders” Deion has no interest in GT. Supposedly he’s waiting to see if ASU goes after Mike Norvell. Norvell has strong ASU ties, and could be a good move for him. It would be a no brainer for FSU and Deion.
Auburn is going for Lane Kiffin #1 and Freeze #2. Question remains, does the new AD truly have the power he was promised to keep the boosters away from making the decision? But really, Kiffin going from Ole Miss to Auburn is truly a lateral move. Jimmy Sexton is his agent and will get Kiffin a massive raise to stay at Ole Miss.
Reports are coaches like former TCU HC Gary Patterson are interested in Nebraska. They’ve had a lot of interest and are at the vetting stage in the process. Jeff Monken is supposedly also a name to watch at Nebraska.
There are 2 jobs that are currently filled that could open up at the end of the season that would throw a wrench into everything. Texas A&M and Tennessee.
Jimbo needs to finish 8-4 to ensure another year. Based on the reports there is going to be a mass exodus to the Portal when it officially opens.
Tennessee. Reports are Heupel is getting serious NFL interest. Notably the Carolina Panthers.
So GT needs to have a hire in place if it truly is a hot name before the 2-3 SEC schools open up.
I'd rather have Deion with BOB as OC

Let me guess, you have no such plans in the extremely likely event that we hire anyone else.BOB is not my ideal choice for HC among those who are conceivable here in Realville, but he would be 10 thousand times better than what he have had around here since 2019. So if it should come to pass, I do not plan to whine and bitch about it, but to try to be optimistic and support him.
You're saying prime keeps on slipping.Does anyone honestly think that the Panthers would go after another college coach? At least Rhule was in the NFL ranks for a year as a coach. I doubt they make that mistake again.
Prime and Lane will both follow the money (as they should). That's unfortunately why with each passing day there is little chance we get Prime.
I will probably privately whine and bitch if they hire another guy who I consider to be a douchebag or loser - like I considered CGC when they hired him. I wouldn't do so publicly here, but I almost surely would do so privately to friends - like I did when they hired CGC. However, if they hired BOB, I would not really feel terrible about it, and so there would be no reason for me to whine or bitch publicly or privately. At least for the first two years.Let me guess, you have no such plans in the extremely likely event that we hire anyone else.
I think you just reached peak "I told you so", congrats.I will probably privately whine and bitch if they hire another guy who I consider to be a douchebag or loser - like I considered CGC when they hired him. Publicly, I will support whoever they hire and hope he wins every single game as long as he is Tech's coach. Even if they hire another douchebag or loser. Because he might be a douchebag, but he would be my douchebag.
Realville hasn’t been much fun for the last 3 1/2 years so I’m hoping for Deion until another choice is made.I'd "rather have" Bill Belichick with Sean McVay as OC.
Join us here in Realville. BOB is not ever, ever, ever coming to Tech at any time in the future as an OC. He is only an OC now because he is enrolled in the Nick Saban School for Wayward Coaches. He is not going to graduate from that school only to become an OC at one of the weakest P5 schools in the country. If he comes here it would be as HC. Which I still find doubtful, but at least conceivable.

0% likelihoodIf the Heupel part ends up being true, I’m calling it now - Kiffin back to Tennessee. Would be glorious.
He sounds like George O’Leary, and I want to inject it straight into my veins.
You understand that Penn st had only 67 players on scholarship that year? Penn st didn’t just have a bowl ban but scholarship as well. They had 15 players transfer (in a time when the portal didn’t exist). The Qb was a true freshman as were most of the Oline. What BoB did at PSU was remarkable.
Can't wait to "told ya so" all the option haters if Monken goes to Nebraska and has success. "It doesn't work anymore, blocking rules! It's practically outlawed! Recruiting!"Reports are coaches like former TCU HC Gary Patterson are interested in Nebraska. They’ve had a lot of interest and are at the vetting stage in the process. People are doing exactly that, overstating. 8-4 is normal for Penn State. 10-2 would be amazing. What O'Brien did was hold the status quo, if even. Yes they lost a few players--someone said it was just 15. Were they all the best players? Probably not. (GT probably lost more talent after our past season!) Were all the players they recruited scrubs? Probably not. It's still Penn State. So sure, good job, but the glorification of Penn State's "overcoming adversity" and redemption was an ESPN/media narrative and O'Brien was the sympathetic beneficiary. I don't want to overargue my opinion on this thread but just not that impressed.I’m not on the BOB bandwagon, but it’s impossible to overstate the job he did at Penn State. They were given the modern day death penalty and they had a winning record both seasons. It wasn’t just a bowl ban for a year, it was a ban for 4 years. They had the same # of scholarships as FCS teams. Most people projected them not to win a game. He did an incredible job at Penn State.
Penn State should have gotten the death penalty ööööing assholesPeople are doing exactly that, overstating. 8-4 is normal for Penn State. 10-2 would be amazing. Who would that have hurt? Sandusky? Paterno? Tim Curley? Spanier? They were already well punished.Penn State should have gotten the death penalty ööööing assholes
The answer is the fans that rioted down the street flipping cars and öööö when Paterno was fired.Who would that have hurt? Sandusky? Paterno? Tim Curley? Spanier? They were already well punished.
Who would that have punished who actually did something to deserve it?
It would have punished folks with jobs and businesses in State College / Happy Valley which in large measure depend on attracting 100000+ fans to football games seven weekends a year. Hotel staff. Restuarant workers. Bar owners. Folks who had ZERO to do with what Sandusky did.
I just want to play meaningful football on the Flats again. We don’t matter right now. We can run the wishbone, spread, whatever…don’t really give a öööö who we hire at this juncture…..just compete and win damnit.
PS. So sick of seeing Ugag on ESPN. It makes me want to puke. I hate them and it makes me sick when I see the gap between us and them on the field. We should be freaking disgusted with ourselves that we’re allowing them to dominate this state. J better wake up pissing fire everyday until we get this right.
