Doesn't seem fair to say 5-7 is part of the Chan Gailey equilibrium.
He never had a season where he only won 5 games -- in fact, he never had a season where he only won 6 games. Won 7 every year except the year where he won 9. And he never had a season where he lost 7 games, either -- two seasons where he lost 6 and every other season he only lost 5.
Chan's time here was mediocre as hell but there's no need to misrepresent it.
A better explanation of the Gailey Equilibrium is in order. Chan was the kind of coach who could turn a 5-7 team into a 7-5 team, but he could also turn a team with 10-2 or 9-3 talent into a 7-5 team.
