MSU will probably use this to settle. I doubt they fire because I can see Mel Tucker winning this in civil court because these accusations sound very consensual.

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Brenda Tracy, the woman named in a USA Today report that accuses MSU Football coach Mel Tucker of sexual misconduct, posted a Tweet on X/Twitter responding to Tucker’s statement.

“This is just more of the same DARVO, deflection, victim blaming and lies that I’ve been dealing with now for months. Coach Tucker has been delaying and trying to stop the investigative process since the beginning. He can’t afford to go to a hearing that determines credibility of the participating parties. I believe this statement is his way of getting out of participating in the hearing. October 5th and 6th I will be present for the hearing and make myself available for cross examination by his attorney Jennifer Belveal. I invite him to do the same,”
 
Also, not sure who to believe here. As I said before, he should be fired for stupidity. But there were a lot of phone calls.....and people don't usually spend that much time on the phone with each other before the talk becomes sexual.

This will be an interesting one and we have only heard one side of the story.

I think they both messed up. I wouldn't want either as a leader for young adults.

I think if they fire him with sexual harassment/assault as the reason, he could have a shot at winning a court battle for wrongful termination. The school may succeed in doing it on the sexual relationship on it's own though, on the idea of it being unethical to have such intimate contact with someone you could classify as a 3rd party vendor and also be reflecting badly on the school doing it as a married man. Basically for the reasons Mookie said.
 
Can you rape someone over the phone? Mel is a dumbass for being duped.

Agreed, these days MeToo is a wildcard that magically trumps objectivity and facts. To say Mel is in for some tough sledding ahead is an understatement. Unlike Pastners situation where the school had his back, MSU appears to have motivation to pile on. Unfortunately, like the title of this thread, he ded.

I typically avoid taint, too. Even if there’s a sack lunch on it.

If I were Mel, I would absolutely play the race card. Having a white woman yell rape so they can avoid paying the black man what he is rightfully owed? That will play well in Michigan. Make the university play defense. All he has to do is find the right judge and MsU will pay his full buyout and more.
