I’d say avoiding Nasser’s taint is a pretty justifiable motive.

No, but I don't doubt this is dug up to help avoid a severance. I'd bet aTm is eventually gonna try something to avoid paying Dumbo.

She should never be hired to speak to young people again.

I agree with this. She is trying to get a lot bigger payday than she was ever going to make speaking to youth groups.
 
Just talked to MSU grad at Milwaukee airport and slept at a holiday inn last night, the relationship went on for two years! Tucker is not going anywhere.
 
As usual, some of you are missing the point......
Let's assume everything he says is true and his version of the event is the correct one.

He is the head football coach and has an $80 million buyout for poor performance on the field and a $0 buyout for transgressions committed off the field.

His main job as a football coach....teach kids about responsibility and accountability and making good decisions, both in life and on the football field.

1. He engaged in a sexual relationship with a third party vendor of the university with whom he had some authority over (in terms of not retaining her for future visits)
2. He did so while married even if estranged.
3. He chose this relationship with a person who makes a living educating about sexual harassment and was a victim herself.

Now, let's assume you are estranged and are looking for a relationship. Given all of the facts above, why on earth would he choose this woman to do so. The stupidity is off the charts.

He is making millions a year and I'm sure there are other persons he could enter into a relationship with that were 100x less risky than the one he chose to enter into.

Are you telling me that at some point he didn't think about the risks involved in having a relationship with this woman. And then he topped that off with performing a sexual act on the phone.

History will treat this as the one of the stupidest things a coach has ever done to get fired. This is right up there with Mike Price only worse because he is going to give up $80 million dollars because he is a dumbass.

There is no way they get out of the buyout based on this. Hell, he could use the Nasser case as what the university finds as acceptable behavior.
 
He's guilty of being stupid, but not harassment. She could've hung up the phone any time. He'll sue for wrongful termination and the lawyers will find a settlement a lot less than $70M.

Disagree. He’ll sue and they will pay $70M plus legal fees without admitting wrongdoing. MSU gets to look tough behind a non disclosure agreement.
