Miami Depth Chart...Sims QB1

Sims has a broken foot and has been trying to play. He can stand in and throw but not run. Give it a rest.
THANK YOU. Just bc he’s in full pads, it doesn’t mean he can play full speed.

But then I don't understand why he's dressed.

In what situation were we going to expect him to go into the game with a broken foot, unable to run, potentially exposing himself to an even bigger injury while almost certainly playing ineffectively? That seems like it would be incredibly unfair to him.

Most of the time it’s a decoy thing. Miami thinks he’s healthy, so they have to gameplan around him and waste time in their practice. Pretty much the same reason PJ always said it was an “undisclosed injury” to every injury when he coached. It’s so the opponent doesn’t know what to gameplan for.

That makes sense I guess, although I thought there were rules around that sort of thing if the player is actually injured with something like a broken foot.

Either way, the gamesmanship didn't help us tonight.

Because he's EMERGENCY if qb1 and qb2 both get hurt. He can call the plays, hand off, and stand in and throw but is not mobile.

That's what confuses me though. A non-mobile Sims who can hand the ball off and throw from the pocket is almost certainly more effective than Gibson, who is also not very mobile and has proven he can't throw effectively from the pocket.

So if Sims can really do that then I don't understand why he wasn't in. If he's not healthy enough to do that without risking serious injury, then I understand -- but don't understand why all of a sudden it would be fine for him to do it if QB2 got inured as well.

The decoy thing makes more sense to me than Sims being healthy enough to play, albeit in a limited capacity, but not better a better option than Gibson.

OK. He can't move.

Question: Do you honestly think that he would have been any worse than Gibson is he just stood there, tooks naps in the shotgun, didn't move, counted one thousand one, one thousand two, and then just threw the ball wherever looked best (which might be out of bounds)? I don't.

Rules for injuries are pretty much only for concussions. Most coaches won’t get their guy in full pads on any upper body injuries, but lower body, QBs will usually keep throwing in full pads.

Lol keep with your narrative.
Yourthe one running around spouting the “official” narrative.

“he’s hurt. He’s emergency only”.

No dude. He’s transferring and has quit. This is the same time last year that all the Gibbs “rumors” about transferring were spreading.

He doesn’t want to look like a quitter so he’s falling back on “being hurt”

Sims had so much tape on both ankles on the outside of his shoes he couldn't even flex his ankle. He couldn't run like that.

Sims case is the worst handled thing ever. Today, I saw him run down the sideline after an offensive possession. As with the UVA loss he headed out after the game for a few pictures with the other team. I have heard foot injury. If it is a break, he ought to be in a cast or boot. He should not be standing on the sidelines. He should not be practicing.

When your starting QB is injured you shut him down to focus on healing and rehab, not say he is practicing, will likely play, then he stands for the whole game and does not play. Either he is done and does not want to play, or we have really botched this by not getting him healed, rehabbed and ready to play as soon as possible.

It means people cried over something so meaningless. You don’t know anymore about whose playing now than you did before with the other chart
Your devotion to Collins is quite admirable. I bet you want to hire Key for the head job now too. Lol

Not correct. Collins kept Pyron on the scout team so he never got first-team reps nor did he have an opportunity to learn the playbook. In short, Collins completely wasted his talent. So Key/Long/Weinke got him up to speed as quickly as possible - its a miracle (and a testament to Pyron) that he was ready to go so soon.

In short, if you want to pin Gibson being the backup over Pyron, blame the idiot clown that Cabrera sent packing without a cell phone.
Key had Gibson at number 2 long after Collins was gone. Key was Collins number one boy. But think what you want.

People who feel excluded by “ATL” and “404” are at best pedantic autists (we have plenty of those) and at worst thinly-veiled racists.

I don’t get the idea of being excluded by the 404 nonsense. But it’s even dumber to throw a race card out about it. How the hell does that even enter your tiny little brain?
