I think this has a lot to do with it in addition to us being really depleted at many position, including QB
 
i remember thinking, like a lot of folks, some college football would be better than no college football. Not so sure now.... not just GT, everything.
 
Giving up a week of practice with this decision too.

Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a financial aspect to this early decision. Save the cost of travel. Save a week of unbudgeted extra time to feed and house the players and pay seasonal support staff.

If we were having a decent season in the W-L category maybe spend the money (that the GTAA doesn't have), but based on the reduction in available players and the probability of winning against a team having a more successful season - well, we aren't the first and probably won't be the last to do this this year.

We didn’t cancel because of Covid infections. We just don’t have the money to travel to Miami due to Covid loss of income.
Hell we haven’t been able to pay our Ga Power bill. We only pay the bill after they disconnect the electricity during the middle of night games.

What a joke. So we were ok to play last night, but less than 24 hours later we declare we can't play again in 8 days? BS

And you only have to win 1 game to be bowl eligible this year. They won't keep a tradition rich program like us out of a bowl if they have an opening.

I’m sure Curry’s broken hand and Sims’ likely concussion had something to do with it. Plus AB is now off the team. The straws that broke the camel’s back.
 
I have yet to hear a reason Gleason hasn’t been used. Other than O line not blocking well and he’s more of a pocket guy I don’t understand why he hasn’t gotten a chance. And I don’t know what he looks like in practice so there’s that.
