Mike Daniels resigns

No idea whatsoever whether this is true or not, but I just heard that the decision to dump Daniels was made ABOVE Key. No info on who or why. Very interesting.

Now that I look at his resume, I'm guessing he was not ready for P5 football. Looks like a lazy Collins hire to replace TC

Mike Daniels, who helped the University at Buffalo rank among the nation’s top-30 rushing offenses in 2021, was named running backs coach at Georgia Tech in December 2021.

Called “fast-rising” and “well-regarded” by Football Scoop, Daniels brings a wide range of experience and a plethora of prior success with him to The Flats. Most recently, he served as the running backs coach and recruiting coordinator at Buffalo, where the Bulls ranked 29th nationally in rushing offense with 195.4 yards per game in 2021. Three UB running backs – Dylan McDuffie, Ron Cook Jr. and Kevin Marks Jr. – ran for at least 400 yards each and combined for 1,903 rushing yards, 2,283 total yards from scrimmage and 21 touchdowns on the season. Leading the way was McDuffie, who rushed for 1,049 yards and 11 touchdowns under Daniels’ tutelage in ’21. It was his second stint as running backs coach at Buffalo, having previously served in the role in 2010.

Other stops in his coaching career have included Alcorn State (tight ends), Cincinnati (graduate assistant), Statesboro (Ga.) H.S. (running backs/offensive coordinator), Kennesaw State (wide receivers) and Princeton (Ohio) H.S. (head coach).

No notice?? In the middle of a recruiting trip?? Doesn't pass the smell test.
I believe Tommy Tuberville took a new job not only during a recruiting trip, but while actually having dinner with a recruit. Went to the bathroom and never came back.

I don’t understand that. It makes no sense to me. He’s a good RB coach. Our backs hit the correct gaps as far as I can tell and run hard and protect the ball. But I’m not a P5 coach, and I don’t see it from their perspective.

Enough with speculation about why this happened, let's speculate on something else related- how might this impact the '23 recruiting class?

Would expect to lose a couple that he recruited, but he hasn't gotten any blue chips or anything.

I wonder what is going through Choice’s mind at this point. Hopefully it is along the lines of finding a Realtor.
