He did.I thought reggie sucked against u(sic)ga?
If Reggie Ball could have thrown the football with even a modicum of accuracy, Calvin Johnson would have had 50,000 yards and 300 TDs.

hAvE yOu SeEn OuR lOs?OK . . . Sims does not impress me as a QB, even for a freshman. Sorry. His pocket awareness and field generalship are poor, but those can be fixed with coaching and experience, so that does not really concern me. What concerns me is that his best asset is his feet, not his arm. He has a strong enough arm, but he is not a consistently accurate passer, even when he has time. Occasionally he will make a spectacular throw, but more often than not he is off target. Rarely does accuracy get fixed after high school. I really, REALLY hope I'm wrong, but that is what I'm seeing. I already saw four years of Reggie Ball - I don't need another four.
I thought he was good/great against teams like auburn and mid tier ACC teams. He did.

No. He wasn't. Four years . . . 48.6% (!!!) career completion percentage with 55 Ints (against 57 TDs). Forget the eye test (which he failed miserably, and which Sims is failing right now - though not as badly). If you think that looks like a consistently accurate passer, then you and I have two completely different perspectives on college football in the 21st century.I thought he was good/great against teams like auburn and mid tier ACC teams.
Hope you're all right. Be soooooo happy to come back next year and see that Sims is now a consistently accurate passer and eat my words.
I'm young never got to see him play I sadly grew up in the Tevin washington ear and BAD vadNo. He wasn't. Four years . . . 48.6% (!!!) career completion percentage with 55 Ints (against 57 TDs). Lol you stole mine, but yes I think this team has potential if we can just get some more and have them prepared we really can look goodThe effort was definitely there today as we battled hard. We have made improvements in most aspects of the game.
The offensive line still needs some work and some new players especially the left side. Still a lot better than it was last year though.
I am disappointed in QB play. If Sims doesn't start to improve his ball handling, football IQ, and ball accuracy he will be pressed to keep his job in the future. Graham has a better long ball and is the better athlete and could push this year. Sims does have the better short ball but also makes a lot of bad reads. I wish I could have seen Tuck play more this year to have a better judgement of him but it may say something that the coach's put in Yates before him. Peery coming in could push everyone.
Defensively this was a better effort and I was glad to see some younger players in the game today. Let the best players play.
D-Line is young but gives a lot of effort and has some potential. Impressed with the play of Ivey today for a freshman he did well.
LB & Secondary is where I have been disappointed this year. We are young and thin at LB but it was good to see some other players play there besides Curry. No offense to Curry because he plays hard and is smart but he is not the most athletic option we have. He did make a good play on the onside recovery. Secondary seems to concerned the LB's will miss the play and get out of position to often because of it. Have to learn to trust everyone on the team.
But I am most disappointed in @Techfan02 for stealing my avatar!! Lol...just kidding but that pic is one of my favorite memories as a tech fan.
Yeah the only time he was given a good 3 sec of line protection today he threw a 25 yard laser
Glad you posted that. I resisted doing it because I think some others may already be upset or angry about what I posted, and it would just seem like piling on the kid if I pointed that out, which I really don't want to do. He seems like a good guy, and he's a very good athlete, and I really want him to succeed. REALLY want him to succeed. Because if he succeeds, Tech will succeed.Nope. He did throw a nice ball to Camp that you remember; but there were other times he had plenty of time, was in open space, and simply missed the receiver by yards. Once was to a wide open TE that even the TV commentators couldn't resist pointing out.
Sims has done some really good things. But, his ball control and decision making have been pretty bad at times. I don’t see him as a top three or four conference QB. But, he is certainly not a bottom three either. I don’t think he has the upside of a Hamilton or Shawn Jones. He is more in the Ball and Thomas group. Hopefully he can really improve his accuracy on medium to deep throws, stay focused on ball control, and have a better supporting cast.
For some perspective . . . PSU is supposed to be good and OSU is beating them by the same score ND beat Tech - and they still have one more quarter to get beaten even worse.Boring game where the outcome was never in doubt. ND dominated the 1st half and was in complete control early in the 3rd after their first td of the 2nd half. Field goal attempt was mind blowing as was the 2 minute offense to end the 1st half. Different week but same outcome. Another loss where we were not competitive.
Fair points.Little Joe as a RS Freshman:
108/188 (57.4%) 1342 yds 7.1 Y/A 7 TD 14 INT
95 rush 248 yds 3 TDs
Sims as a TRUE Freshman with a COVID fall camp:
83/150 (53%) 1196 yds 8 Y/A 8 TD 10 INT
69 rush 245 yds 4 TDs
keep in mind that 96 OL was also worlds better than this iteration.
