New ACC 2024-2030 Schedule Release Tonight

Basically, TV inventory overrode everything else. Packer kept talking about there being a little “give and take” from everyone but they didn’t give us anything.

If our policy is to dodge series because we’re pussies then we should drop the Georgia game, too. Then we can fully commit to the Duke model of scheduling

If this is the strategy, Batt should have demanded BC (I know, I know, too soon) every year. If he told the ACC “Whatevs, do what’s best for everybody else” without getting anything in return, he wins the Mike Bobinski Dumbass AD Award.

Clown take. With this "wins are everything" logic we should just move down to the Sun Belt and (try to) run the table. That will be sure to elevate the program. I disagree that beating a bunch of lower tier opponents will bring butts in seats.

A home schedule against BC, Duke, Louisville, and Wake is not going to do any favors around here, even if we go 4-0 against them.
 
Anyone in favor of us having 0 protected rivals in the ACC better be simultaneously raising funds for us to join the Big Ten or SEC.

This schedule change is garbage for us. Which is what we consistently get from ACC management.
 
It might be explained by not having any protected rivalry. If you think about actually making a schedule, you come up with something that satisfies all the constraints first, then you fill in the rest of the games. Since we have no constraints we just get filled in at the end with leftovers. We end up with teams who also don't have protected rivalries like Louisville.
 
I'm unsettled by the lack of Clemson, but by the time any of these changes affect us beyond that, the ACC will be changed again (or extinct), or we'll be a program that's dominating everyone on this or any other conference schedule. Let it ride baybee
 
None of you will be complaining when we “suddenly” get more wins. Clemson won’t stay down because they care too much to stay down. It’s all about winning games and not moral victories. You don’t get credit for being a really tough 6-6 team. And in no way are we dodging anyone including Clemson. We will still play them or FSU in the ACC Champ game so y’all are whining about nothing. The goal is to get to the conference championship game not finish a game behind the Hokies because we had the toughness to play Clemson every year while they played awake or NC State.

I will always be complaining. It’s not about wins and losses if we are in the Sun Belt. Clemson is a major revenue mover for us. They are a fun rival. FSU is a fine rival we should’ve maintained forever. He’ll I’d take Duke too we have played them a lot. So dumb to get none but other AD’s likely didn’t want us either.

We got ööööed right in the öööö hole....hopefully this means Batt has us getting the öööö out so the SEC can öööö us right in the öööö hole. At least we will get paid like a proper whore.

Also, take that Syracuse game out the first season and put Clemson in and I would be fine with that conference every year.
 
We should have kept Clemson and dumped UGA. UGA does nothing for us. We get nothing out of the state and it’s never changing.
I agree with lessening the schedule for the near term. We play too many tough games every year. We need to focus on winning more, creating fan bases, and prep for what’s coming next in a decade.
But otherwise it sure looks like Tech is leaving the conference down the road and the ACC knows it.

Is Batt smart enough for 4d chess? Did he find the super secret exit clause if a team isn't assigned a permanent rival?
