New ACC 2024-2030 Schedule Release Tonight

I think Batt has decided to continue the Benz games. We likely never see CU, FSU at GrantHyundaiDodd. But we do have flexibility to sneak in some games against Ohio State and Michigan, or Auburn and Tennessee if you prefer.
I hope you are wrong. I have zero interest in going to a game at MBS unless it’s a bowl or playoff game we’re playing in. Otherwise, it’s just a home game for Clemson fsu ND

If no one wanted to protect our rivalry, then that says where we are in every set of ACC eyes. öööö them all.
Why wouldn't FSU want to protect GT, Clemson, and Miami? Biggest fanbase for them is metro Atlanta. Short drive from here to Clemson. And Miami is self explanatory.

As for Clemson. öööö those hicks. I'd rather play Auburn again.

The narrative that the Clemson game is holding us back from greatness is weird. They might be the difference between getting to bowl eligibility this year. That’s where we’re at right now as a program.

Our not-so-distant goal is to not be stuck in the ACC, and that will be driven by TV viewership. Playing a rando ACC team for a more likely W isn’t going to get us more viewership than the Clemson game. I don’t even think that rando ACC game plus a bottom rung bowl game would make up the viewership difference. Short term greed for an extra W and a little more revenue money from the new sharing model isn’t worth the risk of getting passed over due to fewer tv eyeballs.
You make a good point, but we're still playing Clemson most years, just not every year. 4 out of the next 7. I don't think we have to play them every year to boost our profile.

Seriously no protected? No Clemson? Wtf. Now that they suck they take them away
1 down year doesn’t equal “sucking” by any stretch of the imagination.

What cracks me up is as a base’ GT fans (not you specifically) would complain about playing Clemson, ND, Miami along with UGA every year, and now GT gets a little bit of a break and people STILL complain. Take the easier schedule and enjoy it.

Add in no trips to Cali until 2026.

I guess it’s all the Carolina schools fault again.

JBatt made a great move dumping Clemson. The playoffs will expand past 12 within the next 8 years once the 12 team format brings in the viewership and the millions. JBatt knows the old days are over. It’s almost like many of you like losing games. After what we’ve been through your darn right I’ll gladly take a win over South Carolina State or a Sunbelt team over a loss to Clemson every Saturday. Once the playoffs expand again any team with 9 wins will get in and that is where the future money and recruiting will come from. JBatt knows that scheduling is like the OLine in that they never get the highlights but are the determining factor in many seasons. Bama and UGA both schedule to win and survive. It sounds like many GT fans would rather schedule to be .500 but beat their chest that we are a great 6-6 team. I’d rather go 8-4 or 9-3 and make the playoffs.

I think it suits us well as we are outta here soon and will beat everyones Azz in front of us!

Clemson is sliding and is going to be the equivalent of playing VT or Carolina soon.
This is such nonsense. One down year where Clemson can still win 9 games means nothing. Having 10+ wins a year for 12 years is hard to do by anyone, Alabama included. Clemson is still recruiting at an elite level and will use the Portal. You think magically they won’t land elite talent? If so, you’re only fooling yourself.

Not bad for us in my opinion. ‘30 looks easiest, at least based on quality of teams now.

Next year's schedule looks rough. 2026 :puke:

The rest is OK. I'm not crying about missing Clemson. Clemson was starting to feel like UGA games at Grant Field where you see more Orange than Gold.

Werent Clemson and FSU supposed to be SEC members by now?

And if Georgia is the only constant on our schedule, what’s the point of being in a conference?

I hate the whole notion of mega conferences. Takes everything interesting out of the game. At least NFL teams play their division rivals every year. But it’s so ööööing random in the “new and improved” ACC. Gonna be that way in any “conference” of 20 teams.

The new order sucks. Bring back 8 team conferences and everyone plays everyone. The CFP is ruining college football for teams that aren’t perennial heavyweights. Not worth it.

well okie dokie, I think they should have really limited the every year matchups to - FSU/ Miami UNC/Duke UVA/Va Tech Stanford/Cal
and that's it. It would have resulted in more even schedules. If they wanted to help Cal and Stanford travel out by adding SMU to each then ok but don't overdo it. I never saw Mia/VaTech as a natural rivalry eg.

We have no protected matchups. Lost Clemson. Clemson-FSU protected

öööö the ACC

This new schedule nonsense was a complete insult to Tech. We should leave the ACC and apply to the Big 10. We have a defense to the GOR, the ACC took away the teams we expected to play and left us with no annual rivals and only low revenue producing games. To Hell With the ACC. Whoever it was at Tech that approved this insulting schedule needs to come out and defend it. This makes me mad as Hell.

I’m perfectly fine with that. Having a great schedule with great match ups doesn’t mean öööö when you’re losing half the games. Plus it’s the ACC. All of these are the same team with different logos.

But we've been doing better against good teams in big game atmospheres lately. We must leave the new super worthless Tech-hating ACC. "It just means less."

12 team playoff, very smart schedule. And we still get your darlings on occasion, Nc cheat and klempsum. Agree, as long as we have Ugag on sked, randomize the conference. And yes, it may change with realignment. So why worry?

Just win babeeee! Bowl this year. 9-3 next year. Playoffs in 2025!

Mind rite!!!

One good thing. We no longer have to worry about good teams leaving the ACC, because we never get to play them. We won't even know they've left.

Well, we better figure out how to beat bad teams in empty stadiums real quick. It's been our Achilles heel.
