I like what this move signals from Key--that losing like this is no longer acceptable.

Collins only made some marginal staffing changes in his 3+ years of poor performance here. (I can't remember for sure if he ever really fired anyone but I think he did after a season let some assistants go.)

Maybe it's the right thing to do to keep Thacker on for player morale and as a courtesy. I don't know.

Johnson fired Groh after the MTSU loss, similar situation. Groh was bitter over it, thought that Johnson could've waited until the end of the season.

Our guys aren’t playing the game angry. They’re not killers. The closest I’ve seen them to being killers is the Wake Forest game and they collected 150 yards of penalties but they got the job done. That’s both sides of the line btw. Afraid to tackle, afraid to fight for extra yards, just flat out timid all around.
