Didn’t B*** L**** get fired after 3 years?
 
I remember when we hired GC, he said he was all about defense and special teams. Saturday, we had a bunch of missed field goals, a muffed punt inside the 10 that we were saved on due to a penalty, and our defense gave up the lead on NIU’s last drive of the game.

There’s plenty of reasons to be frustrated. But Collins will straighten the ship and we’ll get to a bowl game this year.
 
I don't know if new coordinators will help or not, but it's hard to see the ship getting righted with the ones we have, and I'd imagine the buyout makes firing Collins any time soon prohibitive. Maybe that's wrong; it's just hard to see a program as far back as we are in donations being able to swing that.

As for a certain poster harping on the loss of Sims, you know you're in deep öööö as a team when you're using that as an excuse for losing to Northern Illinois at home. It might be an acceptable argument if we were up 14-0 when we left instead of down 14-0.

The simple truth is that Tech fans are out of patience.
Under Gailey we could never crack the 7 win ceiling (or Georgia)
Johnson had good years, but had a habit of following those good years with bad ones that set us back to square one.

Clown Shoes Collins was supposed to fix that. Take what we have and build to the next level mainly through recruiting. He is a good salesman. I for one bought 110% into what he was selling.
Now that the season that would bear fruit has started with an unacceptable embarassment I could not have conceived of I'm out. I feel deeply betrayed by a used car salesman who swindled us. I think a lot of Tech fans feel thr same.

I don't think the used car salesman moniker is apt. I have seen nothing to doubt the man's sincerity and belief. His competency is debatable at this point.

Yeah, I genuinely think he was fired up about this season and thought big things were in store. He probably thought that because it's been several months since he's actually had to coach against someone who has a clue what they're doing.
 
His coordinators have no P5 experience prior to their current job at Tech . Most of the other assistants don't have P5 experience either. Every assistant has multiple responsibilities. What could go wrong?

The ones with the most self doubt are usually the loudest ones in the room.

Collins has no confidence in his coaching ability. He’s faking it until he makes it.

The 2 win Covid tournament where the 5th year coach needed the last 4 games of the season with the most experienced team in country to finally get a low seed dance invite and then get bounced out on his head by powerhouse UIC lmao….that plate?

All Collins needs to do to equal that is suck for 2 more years…then back door his way into the Acc championship game and play a team not named Clemson because they got covid
