This points to Key being OC.
Same principle also applies and points to Geoff being DC.
Or Taver, who already had Thacker as his LB coach at Temple.

I’d rather Geoff do it since he’s worthless elsewhere and spend the $ on an OC that is not Brent Key.Or Taver, who already had Thacker as his LB coach at Temple.
Once guys hit OC in the SEC , they tend to stay in the SEC where the pay is more and it puts them in line for an SEC HC Job that pays way more than we do.
Also, we don't know how much is Lebby's Offense , and how much is Lane Kiffin and his QB development background?
Which points to a coaching search next yearThis points to Key being OC.

My point exactly, how much was him and how much was due to those great guys you listed. He’s coached under Briles, Heupel and Kiffin. I’d say he’s worth the risk.

Remember all the Belichick proteges that have failed miserably in the NFL, being "under" Belichick did nothing for them.
Thoughts on Drew Cronic, Mercer head coach? He’s had success at every step up he’s taken thus far.
Wow, we sure are a sensitive bunchDude … you’re exhausting. I offered a reasonable candidate. If you don’t like it…fine. It’s a message board. Nobody from GT gives a crap what you or I think.
Well, that's one strategy...although not necessarily a strong one to pursue. No retreads. Go nuts and bring in Corey Dennis as OC and passing game coordinator with Duece as co- OC and run game coordinator. Lincoln Riley,'s little brother as a QB coach and hired by Dikes when he was announced OC at Appy State. Why not buck the trend and not get a 55+ retread?
And if he succeeds, pony up to keep him.One exercise I would propose is asking...
If [insert name] didn't attend GT, would they still be a candidate for [insert job] on GT's staff?
If the answer is no, hire someone else.
The alma mater connection means nothing with respect to results on game day. Hire someone who can coach.
Nice suggestion. I follow Mercer football and have been to several games over the past year. He’s done a nice job there and disappointed they didn’t make the playoffs. He gets a little predictable at times but otherwise has done a great job in Macon.
This.Willy Korn getting some play on social media. I would be on board.
Why could it not mean we are in line for more firings? The new OC could come in and decide who to keep.My assumption is that any new OC wants input on who coaches the RBs, WRs, OLs
Hiring an OC with no input on who's working with him and for him is a sign that we are in line for a very weak candidate, to summarize, "a discount OC".
Can't see Mullen not taking on another HC job. Dook?On this list, Mullen is the only one I would call. I like Chip Lindsey.
