official 2009/ 2010 recruiting thread

Isaiah Johnson has a great interview on Rivals. He is fully committed and even wears GT eye black during his HS game. I love how he mentioned how close our commits are. Jacketsonline is doing an excellent job.

Just got back from the Griffin/ North Clayton game and I have to say that Tech really needs to get on the Xzavier Dickson bandwagon. He's an Alabama lean at the moment but he is a beast!!! He's a defensive end with speed off the edge. He makes plays all over the field and has a great frame (I was with a buddy of mine that scouts for Scout.com and we met Xzavier after the game... He's got a frame built to hold another 40 pounds). Right now he is a junior and he is 6'4" 230 and solid as a rock.

It would be nice to make some in-roads to Griffin, a historically strong UGAg area.

Are we still primarily focusing on Ealey, Martin and White (if he can make it)? Also what's the deal with Pat Swilling, does he realy have all the scholarships that scout and rivals claim he does? Is he in the picture at all and does the staff think that he can be the linebacker that takes Cornelius' place since he comitted to Miami a while back?

He has NEVER been in the picture.

I saw Denzel Mccoy at the game. I was drunk and I saw a guy with a name tag that said Denzel McCoy, so I did the respectable thing and gave the drunk shout, the drunk wave, and the drunk, "You kick ass kid!" like a mature adult and left him alone after that...

Nice!

Ryan White committed to Kentucky.

I saw Perkins, Williams, Mccoy and Alford at the game.

This win looks great for the 2011 recruits that came to the game.

When we lose a recruit, let's take advantage of a Golden opportunity to distinguish ourselves by wishing the kid good luck.

I never wished him ill will, but I don't see why we feel compelled to wish everyone who turns us down "good luck" when most of us know we really don't mean it; it just seems a little disingenuous.

I admit, though, my comment was a little caustic and maybe pre-mature given I did not know his grades were still an issue.

I do not personally know the kid, but I would still wish him the best fortunes sincerely, but that would obviously exclude any possible meeting on the football field.

Any comments from recruits at the VT game?
From what I've read, it made a big impact on a lot of them. Because the negative recruiting against GT, a lot of recruits believe that the atmosphere at BDS sucks, last Saturday night dispelled that myth in detail. :D

So, is the slogan now, come to Atlanta where every week you can party like a rock star?
