official 2009/ 2010 recruiting thread

I concur, as long as someone is making sure they keep their heads in a book. I am sure that no one wants to take as long to graduate as I did.

I wish I had taken longer but then I only took 3 years.

What's the big rush? They'll be working forever once they start. If I were them and if I weren't an NFL bound stud I'd milk it for the full 5 years and maybe save up and pay for a sixth one myself just for the H of it.

So is 2011 recruiting starting? I see some guys with a lot of offers were at the game last Saturday.

The staff has been working on the 11 class for awhile.

Are the safety and quarterback that were at the game any good? C.J. Uzomah and Avery Walls were the names I recall catching my eye when I went to The Hive earlier.

Yes both are very good IMO. Walls is claiming a offer from the Sooners. He is a hard hitting player. He played at Sandy Creek his underclass year with GT commit Isaiah Johnson. He transferred to Union Grove this year and plays with GT commit Anthony Williams. Paul Johnson was at the UG game last Friday I believe.

C.J. Is a big QB at 6ft5. Not sure of his speed or how much he likes us. He will gain a lot of offers though.

Sounds cool. Hopefully big games like the one last week make a good impression on these kids.

2011 is the year we land a sick recruiting class. This season is disproving all the myths that surround our program, and the recruits are, imo, beginning to see that.

Are the Jackets going after any Tennessee High School players? I'm interested in that because I live around 10 miles from the Tennessee border.

The main focus is Georgia. I could be mistaken, but I do not recall that we're heavily recruiting anyone out of TN.

Hey guys, this is my first time posting, but I have been keeping up with this thread pretty much since it started. I had assumed (from staying up to date on here) that the 2010 class was all but complete...however, in recent days, I've seen a couple of things that have piqued my interest. One story was about the Stephenson DT (Thornton) that visited the GT-VPI game, and the other was a post on another message board talking about a "high" four-star that was considering us after we won.

I have a couple of questions about these stories: first of all, has anyone else heard anything about a "high"(ly regarded?) four-star suddenly gaining interest in us over the past week? If so, does anyone know the identity of this mystery prospect? My guess is it might be Thornton, but, last I heard, he was almost certainly a Penn State commit. Secondly, if Thornton (and/or the mystery prospect) did suddenly gain interest in us, do we have an available scholarship to offer him(/them)? Any additional info on these two stories would be appreciated.

The mystery recruit does not yet have an offer, and it's not Thornton, as he already has an offer from GT.

Since I don't want create another firestorm by posting so-called "premium" info, all I'll say about the mystery recruit is that he's 4 stars and a running back, but he does NOT have an offer as of yet. I think PJ is still thinking it over.

Could this be a certain running back who got an offer from LSU that was pulled right before he tried to commit?

Heres hoping its Michael Dyer, hes a four-star..... ;-) And its at your liberty to give out info, why wouldn't Tech fans be happy to share with fellow Jackets I smell bitchassness

weve already had a huge disscussion over this. GTland03 (Matt Holt) lets us post info from Rivals but only certain things. we dont post permium info from Rivals.

i agree. i think we will land some big time prospects come 2011.

I'm not an insider, but I do read what Dems says. He mentioned Roy Finch an OU committ came to the game. He is a 4 star RB from FL. Perhaps he is the back in question.
