Official everyone laugh at uga and Kirby Shart thread

Heard a rich one today...UGA fan at work told me Smart is having to coach Richt's players and that things will get better once Kirby has players that fit what he is trying to do on campus...

I nearly öööö I was laughing at that guy so hard. Now it's a scheme/player fit issue...Anything to justify the total derailment of UGAy's program that is happening before our eyes.

there was an interesting article which attempted to make the case that Kirby's scheme requires specific measurables of the players in order to be successful, ill try to find it

I don't buy this öööö at all. If the guy was 2 inches taller he could play with Bama, but as he is, he can barely keep up with Nicholls State and will drop a game to Vandy? Please. There are very talented players all over that roster.

Apparently CPJ figured out how to coach players that someone else recruited. Must not be that big of a deal.

Do you think Kirby Goff would be kicked out the door if UGAG goes 6-6 this season and in 2017? I think UGAG is about to fall into the funk that Tennessee found itself in from 2008-2012.

No. They would owe him $13 MM and no one would want to coach there: Fire a 10-win guy then the next season fire a first year coach.

Unless he starts missing bowl games, I bet he gets 4 years.

I wouldn't get too excited. UGA is a matchup nightmare for us w/ their short passing game and our cushion coverage schemes.

I'm worried about that, as well. Roof needs to put pressure on the short game and force Eason to beat you deep. Eason isn't that accurate deep, the WRs are poor, and the line can't hold a pocket for more than a few seconds. Instead Roof will probably play with a 10 yard cushion, leading to Eason going 30 for 50 on the day.

Typical öööö that winds up in that UGAG rag the Urinal Constipation. They're trying to deflect heat and pressure from the hack who they crowned as the next Nick Saban.

I think UGAG at the most will give Kirby Goff three seasons just like Tennessee did with Derek Dumbass

I would coach there if I had a $13 million buyout. I wonder how many I could lose in a row to GT before getting cut loose

That's because your alternatives pay $150k / year with no buy out. A coach that uGA would want has options to coach elsewhere for $13 MM buyouts. That sort of coach doesn't want to risk a career set back that comes with being fired the first time he loses 3 games in a season.

I think that is true. The specific measurable is being the best player in the country at that position.

It was more a scheme analysis that, while not gling against what you say, was making comments like "if the DL wasnt 6-7 but only 6-4, then they couldnt block the passing lanes as intended and it leaves a coverage gap"

I know what you mean. I was being sarcastic but the reality is yes, if you have really good players then scheming is much easier. The entire premise of an article suggesting "specific measurables" is dumb. If Tech could get pressure on the QB with 3 guys we would have a bad ass defense too.

Hm, interesting. Post it if you find it; I would like to read it as well.

I did a little search earlier and could not but i will search my browser history on all my computers tmrw and try to find it

Well even if its true (that a certain type of player is needed for KS' system to work), how dumb do you have to be not to modify the "system" to capitalize on the available roster until you get the roster looking the way you want it.

Either way, KS is looking pretty Goffy right now.
