I mean, people on here say Dabo isn’t (despite proving otherwise) along with a few other HC’s from common opponents GT plays. Ya know, because they have every resource and all.

I have nothing but respect for Pyron. He played with a ton of heart his freshman year and put the team on his back then. I really don't understand his play as a starter this season. He wasn't getting tunnel screens out on time today, ate the ball on a wide open downfield threat, missed reads in the running game, etc. Just as a whole, he didn't seem poised and in control of the offense. It's a shame because you would think he'd be playing with more confidence and freedom after a season backing up King.

I feel the same. It’s finally his moment to shine, but just something didn’t look right from the beginning. Hate to see it went like that

One criteria would be not having delay penalties coming off a timeout. That’s bullshit and should never happen. Yet it’s happened to us multiple times this year. We also frequently waste timeouts to deal with substitution issues. Those are red flags for someone who is out of their depth.

I would agree to an extent. He is not HC material right now, but he can and must improve. He does seem to be a good recruiter and that is 50% of the deal.

I would like to see more emotion, but I guess you cannot force it.

False. Pitt is 7-0, Indiana is 8-0 are examples of how the new era of CFB is actually easier to compete. Portal + NIL have leveled the playing field, and the depth of the Top 5-8 programs isn’t there.

Heck, Duke, Vandy are better than FSU, Bama. Enough said.

We should go against the grain. Volunteer players and volunteer coaches. How could unpaid coaches and unpaid players make me feel sicker than I do right now?

It’s a dumb question. There are plenty of others who are good head coaches. The better question is how many head coaches have had multiple delay of game penalties on the first play following a timeout this year. I bet that’s a pretty short list.

Well, that looks to be a miss by a lot of P4 programs at the moment. That said, would he have had the same opportunity to bring in pretty much all his key players with him like he did to IU? Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great story. Just like Army, Navy, Iowa State, etc.

And I think it’s a safe bet that he may be 1 and done at IU if a bigger school comes calling.

So having delay of game penalties is your main complaint at the moment? So that’s why he’s not HC material in your opinion? Yet his overall W/L record says otherwise. He’s 16-14 and has yet to having a losing record in 2 years (1 full). Are there some issues that need to be addressed? Yes. But from a talent level standpoint, if GT can hold onto this class and get some Portal additions, next year is a 9 win season.

Name some realistic options GT can get to replace CBK in your mind? From all rumors, 3 current CFB HC’s turned GT down for one reason or another less than 2 years ago.

Sloppy game, boring too. Pyron didn’t get much help from our receivers, but that interception after we had some momentum was inexcusable. Loved what I saw from Philo as a true freshman. We need King back, I’m honestly a little surprised how much of an impact he has on our overall offense (no slight at him). Hats off to the defense for trying to keep us in the game.
