Note sure if I had been watching the wrong Owens highlights, but those few that they just showed make him look like one of the better SSDE/DTs we've picked up in a few years. That dude is quick for a big guy. Hoping he grows into that frame and can give us the presence inside that we've been needing for so long. Our best DTs the last 4 or 5 years (Gotsis and Gamble) had always looked to me like SSDEs playing out of position due to necessity.

This dude looks like a nasty OLB down the road for us. At 6'4" 198 he's gonna be able to put plenty of weight on. And again he's just fast. Not too much of a stretch to think WDE in a few years given how natural he looked playing on the LOS in his film. He and Owens are my two favorite defensive guys from this class.

He's listed as ATH, do we know that we're definitely recruiting him as a defensive guy? (I do not follow recruiting)

Listed at S a lot on the recruiting sites but I think just about everybody was recruiting him as an OLB - a lot of his film shows him playing standing up on the LOS. Haven't seen any mention of offense which makes sense when you watch his highlights playing defense. I could see him putting on some weight and being an every-down guy for us. As in fast enough to stay with TEs/receivers in the spread and big enough to rush the passer as well.
