Not to rain on the parade, but I think the transfer ratings are a crap shoot. I hope it means we're good, but ideally you have few transfer portal players because you're stable. The clown seemed to recruit the transfer portal well and that led nowhere.

Transfer portal changed everything. Transfer portal means nothing.

The truth is somewhere in the middle but definitely leans toward a big change. Doing well is a must for Tech given our rebuild, and that you only get 1 transfer for free.

I think you are right that the transfer portal is a very big deal, but QuadF is right that transfer portal ratings will be a pretty big crapshoot.

The ratings will be a crapshoot because it can be very difficult to evaluate whether a player isn't very good or if he was just in a bad situation, and because using the portal well is more about filling specific areas of need versus just getting a bunch of good players.

I doubt the rankings are taking that second part into account. They're probably treating it like normal recruiting classes, where you take 20+ players and try to keep the developmental pipeline for all positions full.

GT had 4 commits when they moved up to 10.
rankings currently are for the 26 teams that have transfer commits so far.
I agree that it's too early to mean much.

Michigan only ranks 20 among HS recruits. Portal season lasts until about Jan 20 but Mich is pushing hard now in order to
distract from what would otherwise be a rather lackluster early signing day for them.

He also had 173 yards receiving in 2021....600 total yards as freshman definitely between him, smith, felix, and Martin we could have depth and production as a unit.
