We are bottom 3rd in talent in the league, but are still P5 level in talent. We definitely could use a better S&C coach.
5 wins would be my minimum expectation. 7 is possible. Everyone knows this team underperformed at 7 wins
ACC's at one of its lowest points in a while. Many on here may disagree, but outside of Clemson, you could make an argument the AAC may have been as strong as the ACC this year.
What I think Collins brings that a lot of the GT fans want desperately is conformity. Win or lose, Collins will do it in a manner that is more acceptable to the fan base.
The first part of this rant is wrong and ignorant on so many levels. What CGC brings is the exact OPPOSITE of conformity.
CGC's message is that GT is unique and special, and we need to find a path to success that takes advantage of our strengths, that allows us to win BECAUSE we are Georgia Tech. We will not try to win the same way Georgie or Bama win, but we will try to win OUR way, with our spirit.
When Dodd, Alexander, and Heisman beat the Georgies and Bamas, they did so with spirit, not a gimmick scheme. Gailey/Tenuta tried to win with gimmick blitz defenses. Johnson tried to win with gimmick option offense. Both had success, but the successes were limited, as the more you saw each the better you could handle each.
CGC will not trot out gimmicks in scheme. Neither did Dodd, et. al. to my knowledge. They relied on spirit to win, or at least keep it close, and the coach would "think of something" to seal the win. The schemes were good, but not unique or niche.
CGC pushes spirit. Defense and special teams are mostly about effort and execution, and that is what he promises. Temple was developing a pretty good offense, and we will see what we do here. Our advantages will not be that we will try to catch an inexperienced coach unawares. It will be that we will outfight the other guys, and do so with comparable athletes.
I don't know what our record CGC's first two years will be. Bobby Ross was 5-17 his first two years here, and winless in conference. If you are setting floors and demands for 2019 and 2020 now, you are just being an ass and in your heart you know it. I am confident CGC will not make excuses for his losses and will credit his players for his wins. That is how it should be.
That’s exactly how I see it. Had CPJ hung 70 on his opponent today we would’ve seen a lot of house-divided crapola.I hate that this is how the era ended, but I think the way it ended will allow those on the fence to accept the change a little more easily, at least that’s how I am feeling.
So in your mind CPJ is a miracle worker then. Considering he’s gone 20-15 in the regular season and 13-11 in conference with the current class of rising seniors.Do you really believe this? I see so little talent especially on the DL and OL. CGC will have to win on scheme alone meaning blitzing, blitzing some more, and then creating new blitzes. I do think our ST will be much improved even though PJ is leaving us with a helluva kicker.
Mediocre talent = mediocre recordSo in your mind CPJ is a miracle worker then. Considering he’s gone 20-15 in the regular season and 13-11 in conference with the current class of rising seniors.
He has the same record as Gailey. Was Gailey a miracle worker? So in your mind CPJ is a miracle worker then. Considering he’s gone 20-15 in the regular season and 13-11 in conference with the current class of rising seniors.
If we are not better than UGA we will not be a great or nationally relevant program
I love how NOW having floors is being an ass but meanwhile when we were ACTUALLY achieving öööö under Johnson it was all smoke and mirrors and ther peoples doing.
CGC has a 7-year contract which shows me our AD thinks this team has no talent and no ability to win games. It also means there’s is great risk that we will be forced to endure quite a few bad seasons due to “roster turnover.”
All because we don’t dare to be different. It’s just dumb. But like I said before at least we will be in shotgun.
I completely agree, and I'm surprised this statement isn't made more often. Quan was terrible. It’s all about quarterback and if you don’t think that then you are blind. We have had zero passing threat. All of CPJs past qbs look like manning next to Taquan.

I can't help but wonder how the last two years go if Jaylend never gets on that ATVI completely agree, and I'm surprised this statement isn't made more often. Quan was terrible.
I wonder how this season would've gone if Lucas had been healthy. It also baffles me that Tobias didn't get more snaps this year.
You can't seriously think "roster turnover" isn't a valid reason for patience. Particularly given our unique situation? I've said since we hired CPJ that we might suck for a while once he leaves. It's just common sense.
While I agree there are "fans" who have hated the offense since day 1, CPJ isn't leaving because the school doesn't want to be different. He's leaving because the on-field results are sub-standard and have been for the better part of 4 years now. It was a good run that I enjoyed thoroughly, but it was clearly time for a change.
