Long overdue.
Just gonna have to hike it to the Tech Green space near the campanile campus area. Plenty of space to set up.Tech needs parking. I know that. We need better tailgating space
Yeah but then you gotta tear it down tooJust gonna have to hike it to the Tech Green space near the campanile campus area. Plenty of space to set up.
It was still a park {Peter's Park} in the fall of 1981 when I got to Tech. Then they started construction on the parking deck and it rained... a lot! So that area became Peter's Pond. Then they finally finished the parking deck and it became Peter's Parking Deck, EXCEPT for when it rained hard, and then it was Peter's Parking Deck, with Peter's Pond and Dock on level 1.It was a park before they destroyed it and built a parking deck on it, when my Uncle played in the early 60s, or so he told me. Pretty sure he said it had a pond on it. Maybe I made that up. Regardless that’s how I always imagined it and wished it to go back to being. Good for them.
So a caravan of angry drunks hauling stuff from the center of campus out to the perimeter when it's time to break the tailgate down. Doesn't sound very tailgate friendlyJust gonna have to hike it to the Tech Green space near the campanile campus area. Plenty of space to set up.

Which is why we’re gonna switch to mobile camp tailgates. Hiking bag, small tents, beans and beef jerky provisions, etc. if we do it hobo enough we’ll even have suburban housewives bringing us food to make themselves feel better. So a caravan of angry drunks hauling stuff from the center of campus out to the perimeter when it's time to break the tailgate down. Tearing out student center parking would be stupidCalm down guys, these are just proposed changes. They ain't gonna get rid of it. Could put a park on top of it though.
Get a hobo to carry it for you for a pint.Which is why we’re gonna switch to mobile camp tailgates. Hiking bag, small tents, beans and beef jerky provisions, etc. if we do it hobo enough we’ll even have suburban housewives bringing us food to make themselves feel better.
Midtown sherpas. I like it.Get a hobo to carry it for you for a pint.
The best part of that is the food truck idea. Get some local companies to come out and Tech makes a cutFrom page 75 of the comprehensive plan:

This document reads like a wet dream from an urban planning commission. Just like that the cars will go away. I agree with moving parking to exterior locations but we can't just get rid of it entirely. IMO the Student Center parking is on the edge of campus so isn't an issue.Calm down guys, these are just proposed changes. They ain't gonna get rid of it. Could put a park on top of it though.
