Yes, there are some truly ludicrous ideas floating around here these days. Why would someone move from being Clemson's OC under a wildly successful HC who wins championships, to being GT's OC under a new coach with a lot of hurdles to surmount? Why would Tech's brand new HC allow one of his assistants to be named HC-in-waiting? The HC just arrived here but somebody who hasn't done anything here is already waiting to take his place...? Huh?
I hope note. Belichick has no experience recruiting or dealing with calculus. Saban would just use as a springboard to get the Alabama job.So you DON'T think Bill Belichick is coming in and bringing Nick Saban as his DC? öööö you, man.
Legit? Not legit?
You ought to scratch GE from that list... and Goldman ain't looking so high and mighty anymore.Factory coordinators tend to be better than non factory coordinators because factories have the cash to hire virtually anyone. Also there’s a belief that factory coordinators have the blueprint to be a factory.
Same thing happens in business. People want Apple / Google / GE / Goldman / McKinsey alumni.
The only NFL guys that I can think of that actually had success when they came down to the college level were Pete Carroll, Bill O'Brian, Jim Harbaugh, and Nick Saban. I'm probably missing some though.
That guy knows even less than KQ.
The only reason I’ve warmed up to Whisenhunt is Georgia Tech would get Giff Smith back.
Had Paul Johnson kept Giff on as Recruiting and Defensive Coordinator, he may well have won it all.
F-ing Wommack...smh
Why is everyone so scared of losing a coach? We've lost three coaches in the past 100 years to 'better' opportunities – Curry to Alabama, Ross to the NFL, and O'Leary to ND.That makes me happy. I like the idea of a Tech guy because if he succeeds we might not lose him right away to a factory with more $. But I’d rather not run pro-style.
Has anyone brought this up as yet another reason Whisenhunt is not the guy? I get it's his son and not him, but it's still incredibly embarrassing and gross.

Ken can thank Kurt Warner and Larry Fitzgerald for a great majority of those 48 wins.
Ken is reporting there is mutual interest from Elliott (and Brent Key wants to interview as well)

Yeah, we don't even have a lake or a slide.Don't see why people like these position coaches at factories with no HC experience. Easy to be great recruiters at Clemson or Alabama. Show me someone who has succeeded when working under constraints like Tech's
