Maybe Fitzgerald needs a change of scenery from Northwestern. They are having a bad year, but he can definitely coach, doing more with less.
 
I really really want Key to be successful. I like what he says. He seems genuine. He loves GT. He is not full of coach speak. He's the polar opposite of coach Goof.

Here's the thing... I have been throughly unimpressed with Long and that was Key's hire (according to people on this board that say they have the inside scoop). If Key is the HC I think Long, Weinkie, the new WR coach (Long's guy) all stay. I'm not sure that's a good thing... Semore stays (Key has gushed about him), I think the D line guys stay. Maybe Thacker moves on... Continuity is good for the recruiting however at this point I'm not sure keeping the same staff is a really good idea. The Offense is just so so so so so bad and as many others have pointed out Key WAS the O-Line coach so he has a lot to do with the O being a dumpster fire... maybe if the OL was merely below average we'd be putting up way more points but it's just not happening

I think your reservations about Deion and Xs and Os has merit. But when you look at the body of his work thus far. Saying he would likely do worse than what we have now has little merit if any.
I still think his upside is enormous. Definitely worth a gamble and that gamble has little risk with where we are right now. It’s Prime Time baby.

It has merit, the question is one of likelihood. IF he gets hired and just isn't able to bring the talent in, such performances aren't out of the question even if you think it's unlikely.

Possibilities are wide ranging. Do you think he’d likely do worse? I think he’s likely own the coastal in year 2.
 
Get Deion, keep Kenyatta Watson, maybe Semore based on how Special Teams turned around.

I don't think he'd do worse really performance-wise, I just don't agree that what you think is likely is all that likely. But this particular horse has been beat to death and back in the other thread already.
