Post game Discussion 9.30.2023

Surprisingly very few were even grumbling. The FSU fanbase has been very realistic that it was an institutional support issue and went about fixing the program as a whole once they found a coach they felt confident in turning it all around.
At least Norvell isn't out on the driving range during practice like Willie was.

I stated that the O did not play well. I think they'd all agree there. Yes, the 2nd quarter they stunk. However, the 2nd half they moved the ball but were having to throw it all over the lot to try to keep up with BG's scoring and King tossed 2 INT. Had the D just gotten 1-2 stops, we win that game.

The O still needs work, the D needs a total overhaul. This L was not on the O.
Faulkner has done the same thing in every game so far this year. Get ahead and sit on it. That's not the players not executing; that's the wasted downs due to bad play calling. The L was definitely on the O as well as on the D.

Is that Faulkner or Weinke?

Some of u all are unbelievably good fans. As an alumn and former fan i cannot fathom why anyone steps into that stadium with that program and that gtaa board leadership. Lol
This is one of our biggest problems. What a great ööööing attitude. You don't go because you're a lazy öööö, but your excuse is that the team sucks or the admin sucks or whatever. I drive 8 hrs round-trip because I want it to get better. And having fans in the stadium helps a lot. You are a ööööty alum.

Our fan base sucks öööö and deserves what we have as a football team right now.

My daughter got to storm the field at Ole Miss yesterday while I was driving back to Savannah after that bullshit display. They're decent, but they're not winning the SEC or making the playoffs. But the place is packed.

Who is saying the I didn’t have issues?

Were we not behind, the O would have put 31 points on the board. As it was we missed of a 2-point conversion and a 4th and 1 at the BG 14. That’s 4 points we otherwise would have had. IMPO, 31 points was enough to beat BG, even though we should have scored 50 on them. So, even though there was plenty for them to work on, they weren’t the cause of the loss.

This is reminiscent of folks blaming CPJs O for not scoring 45 points when the D was giving up 42.

From our vantage in lower West, the East stands were sparsely populated. Hard to see how upper West looked and how the rest of lower West looked. But it wasn't a big crowd at all. We bailed mid fourth quarter.
And having Luke Bryan, a known Mutt lover, as a music choice? WTF was that?
It looked like a 22-25k attendance showing. Lower east was mostly empty, upper east & west were pretty barren. There were about 3k left as the clocked ticked zero, 750 were BG fans.

Not sure who the singer was, but don't think that was his name.

Not the pregame singer. Some awful music that was played during the 4th quarter.

I still think the opportunity Key missed was after the reaching tackle that was called a horse collar, followed by more reaching and wide open receivers on simple delays over the middle. After about the third first down with us up 14-0 he should have called time out and gathered the whole team and lit into them. If not then, then immediately after on its next possession the offense had a lame three and out. If the head coach had used his leadership ability and recognized his team wanted the game to be easy and was giving half-hearted effort he could have gotten their attention and won the crowd’s support.

Instead he seemed to do little to change the level of effort. I thought his unwillingness to play Pyron at a time the backup deserved his chance after the pick six and 38-0 run smacked of insecurity. So does his demotion of his defensive coordinator today. You can say you take the blame all you want but today’s action appeases angry fans, points the finger at Packer as the culprit for the loss, and almost any intelligent person would predict will create issues in the locker room. I am disappointed in how he has handled the last two days.

Lots of things went wrong with coaching.

Not putting Pyron in was not one of them.

Meant Thacker, of course, not Packer.
