Post game thread

I’m glad you made this point. It’s a very important one. That is to discount anything you say about football because you don’t have a clue what you’re talking about.
I absolutely know what I am talking about. The coach shouldn't rely on a referee to "hey guy, can you watch this clock for me?"

No I can't, coach. You stand next to me. When you want a damn time out, call it. If you miss calling it, tough öööö. If you call it too early, tough öööö. If I hear you say "time out", you're getting a time out. If I mishear you or you meant something else when I heard the words "time out" come out of your stupid mouth, then tough öööö. I ain't your babysitter, coach. Lean how to call a time out. It isn't on me.

Except none of that is what happened or how it happens. Keep on showing your ignorance.

Good gracious dude, you are tripling down on dumb. The coach is not asking the ref to watch the clock for him, he is giving the ref a heads up that at 1 second he wants to call a timeout. You know, so the LJ will be expecting it. The LJ basically charged GSU a timeout that was never called, because it hadn't been called yet. Even in your scenario the LJ is charging a timeout that hasn't been called. :ughrun:

That is exactly what the coach asked. "Hey ref, I'm gonna call a timeout with one second left"

"Well why TF are you telling me? Call your ööööing timeout with a second left. If you miss it, it is YOUR fault. If you call it too early, it is YOUR fault. If I hear you say "time out" in my direction and I signal "time out", I don't care what the other words you may have been mumbling over the crowd noise, you got a time out and if you didn't want it that is YOUR fault"

Tough öööö, coach. Don't give me a "hey, I am probably calling a timeout here". Call a damn timeout when you want it.

Quadrupling down on stupid, bold strategy Cotton.

It isn't "stupid" to expect a man making millions of dollars a year to know how to clock manage him damn self. Go stand next to the ref. Signal a time out when you want it. If you are talking your stupid coach jibberish to a ref ove crowd noise and he hears "time out" and he gives you a "time out" that is tough öööö.

Jesus, I'm glad none of y'all are my direct reports. I'd have to force personal responsibility on your stupid asses.

A Collins coached team still can’t dominate an FCS team.
We've played 1 of 2 hard tems on our schedule so 50% of the bad part of our schedule is out of the way. We've got 9 winnable games up ahead. We've got 2 weak OOC teams coming up, then a historically weak ACC conference line up. Last night's game is slightly below the level of competition we're facing ahead. Pitt, Fsu & da U are a bit better than avg ACC but then we got the really weak sisters of Dook, Uva, VT and Unc. There's basically no reason we don't get to 5 wins, 6 or 7 if we pick off 1 or 2 more of that remaining pack of 5 OOC/ACC teams with a propensity to major league suck on any given weekend.

Take UCF for example of our "harder" games, they got bitch slapped by Louisville at home. They're ripe for the taking. Ole Piss is an overrated SEC wannabee, Pitt barely beat WV who lost to Kansas, that's right Kansas. Kansas beats nobody particularly on the road. Fsu beat a floundering LSu program so who knows with them & da U struggled with South Miss. all potentially winnable, we'll not be favored, but the GT teams of old all could knock some of these off.

Pretty good take.

Does anyone ever sit in the box seats of the south in wardlaw? For years those things are nearly empty. What gives?

Overall, we won. However, my observations?
1. We are very slow on defense. We lack speed. This will be highlighted in the Ole Miss game.
2. Sims has absolutely no football IQ. He may be talented and have speed. However, his field awareness sucks.
3. Our kicking game is terrible. No other words.
4. Bad coaching still easily seen. Things like getting beat deep, in a cover 2, should never happen.
5. Lastly, we need to stop trying to make "the big hit" and go back to simply wrapping up on a tackle.

I was hoping to see better.

Wrt the kicking game, our kickoff man is kicking touchbacks most of the time, and we downed a punt on the 3 yard line. We didn't miss any extra points. What else are you looking for from the kicking game?

I did worry on that kickoff after their field goal when Hall (I think Hall?) waved it off despite it hitting at about the three. It was a high kick that looked like it might die there.

Go back to? When was the last time we were doing that and not complaining about tackling lol

Turn the channel to FS1 and watch GSU. GSU’s offense s phenomenal.
I just watched the highlights. Offense looks terrific although from the highlights it looks like a lot of success was from Nebraska defense not properly prepared (Scott Frost damn dude) since stuff was so wide open. It's not the triple option though so I guess even GSU has moved on? Looks like a standard college read-option offense. One big difference is their QB is better than Sims and can actually hit open WRs.

Sounds like you have a new team to cheer for. Bye.

Yea, coaches can say that all they damn want, but it still isn't up to the ref to make sure a coach gets a timeout with one second left. If you want a timeout, coach, you better ööööing call it when you need it. The ref isn't your personal assistant for you to give instructions to. When you want a time out, come to me and call it. I ain't clock watching for you. If you miss it and time expires, tough öööö. If you call it and I judge you got it in with a second left, I will have the clock operator put one second on the clock. Not your secretary, coach. You want a time out, you better call it when you need it.
The coach still calls the timeout at 1. He does this as courtesy to the LJ to let him know its coming and to be ready for it. The LJ screwed up, blew his whistle, and called the TO immediately.

You like to argue even when your position is incorrect don't you?
