The coach still calls the timeout at 1. He does this as courtesy to the LJ to let him know its coming and to be ready for it. The LJ screwed up, blew his whistle, and called the TO immediately.
Yea, don't put yourself in that situation, coach. You confusing the ref with your clock management skills are on you. He hears time out and you get a time out, you ööööed it up, not him.

You like to argue even when your position is incorrect don't you?
There is nothing "incorrect" about expecting a coach to be able to walk over to a ref and call a timeout without having to announce his intentions beforehand.

Sounds like you have a new team to cheer for. Bye.
Nah man, I was just responding to the "checkout out Ga Southern's offense" post so I was curious and then commented on what I saw. I always support this team and I have been giving coach GC a pass but his time is running out as I expected more than we've shown so far this season.

My main takeaways:
-DLine but got good penetration most plays but poor tackling resulted in a lot of big gains that should have been no gainers. Our D players are standing straight up most of the time.
-Sims didn't do much out of the ordinary. Few big plays.
-The 4th quarter we looked very tired on both sides of the ball.
-Thank God for the turnovers.

My takeaways:
Chip Long as OC is better than CDP. Love his play calling and scheme. Wish we still had Gibbs.
Brent Key sucks as a OL coach.
Defense needs to get better as the season goes on. IIIWII

Ole MIss and UCF games will let us know how the season will go....1-4 its over, 2-2 we have a chance.

Wrt the kicking game, our kickoff man is kicking touchbacks most of the time, and we downed a punt on the 3 yard line. We didn't miss any extra points. What else are you looking for from the kicking game?

Made field goals would be nice

Your position may not be objectively incorrect but it is out of touch with reality, because coaches in both college and the NFL regularly give officials a heads up for things like this.

I really think we miss Mason more than Gibbs. We need a power back.

I did worry on that kickoff after their field goal when Hall (I think Hall?) waved it off despite it hitting at about the three. It was a high kick that looked like it might die there.

Thought that was weird too. Aren't you allowed to fair catch the ball for a touchback now? Seems like a better option...

And it is still the coaches responsibility to call it. Not the refs to be watching out for the coach.

Yea, I was like "fair catch that!"

The kick was more of a pooch. I think WCU was hoping it would fall short of the goal line, stay out of the endzone, and they could recover.

I do love how you continue to expose your idiocy with this argument. Please continue. It is high value humor and entertainment. Seriously, please don’t ever back down. :D

You know that every coach in America says I want a TO at one second don’t you?
Yea, and if he doesn't get it, it is on him, not the ref. He needs to watch the clock and call the damn thing, not tell the ref "I have intentions" and become a Karen when it gets messed up. It is up to the coach to get in the refs face and go "TIMEOUT" when he sees 2-3 seconds on the clock.

You must be one of the snowflakes who shifts blame for your own screwups by saying "but I told the guy selling the car to hold it for me" and BS like that. I don't operate that way. If I'm a coach, and a timeout gets screwed up, that is on me - not the ref. "But....but....I told the ref with 12 seconds that I wanted a timeout at 1 second and HE messed up.....whaaaaa...." No, he didn't, you did. Get in his face. Call your damn time out. It ain't the refs duty to pay attention to your ass and keep up with your future needs. Get in his face. Call it.

Just like when I have bought classic cars and trucks. I tell the seller "I can have you the money tomorrow morning. If someone comes along with money before me, sell it". It is life. I don't go back and say "but I told you I'd have the money this morning" and cry about it.

I think your proclivity on doubling down on your own stupidity explains a lot of your defense of Collins and Stansbury.

But please explain your take on the timeout some more. Coach tells a ref, “hey, when the clock gets down to X number of seconds I’m gonna call timeout”. But the ref goes ahead and calls the timeout right then instead…that’s the fault of the coach.
Please do explain your stupid take some more.
