Post game thread

I think your proclivity on doubling down on your own stupidity explains a lot of your defense of Collins and Stansbury.

But please explain your take on the timeout some more. Coach tells a ref, “hey, when the clock gets down to X number of seconds I’m gonna call timeout”. But the ref goes ahead and calls the timeout right then instead…that’s the fault of the coach.
Please do explain your stupid take some more.
It is a loud stadium. Coach goes to the ref. Crowd is loud. Ref hears "time out". Ref signals time out. Coach sobs with trembling lips "but.....but....I meant with only ONE second". Tough coach. I heard time out. That is on the coach.

JJacket method. Our team doesn't approach the ball. JJacket gets in refs face. With 2-3 seconds left, JJacket yells "TIME OUT" while signaling the ref for it. Time out is signaled.

So every coach that gets in the side pocket of a ref…and tells said ref when he’s about to call a timeout at a critical time; to make certain said ref doesn’t miss that critical timeout and time on the clock…..all those coaches are doing it wrong and should do it the Jjacketdumbass way instead.
Bwahahahahaha

Again, you have to actually call the timeout with one second left, not leave it to the ref to follow your intentions. If you aren't in the refs face with 5 seconds left signaling and calling for a time out, that is on you. I don't care what you told the ref at 20 seconds. Not his problem

Ok moron this is true. But this isn’t what others are trying to explain to you. Yes the coach still has to actually make the timeout call when the time comes. But that’s note the point. And you still don’t get it lol.

It is absolutely true, snowflake. You are making absolutely no point. The ref owes the coach not a damn thing. If the coach wants a timeout at one second, he needs to call it then, not go to a ref in the heat of the game and ask for a time out 20 seconds from now. If that ref hears "time out" in that sentence, and signals it, that is on the coach.

Next time Saban gets with a ref to notify him of a pending timeout he’s about to call…someone needs to correct Saban…and every other coach in America, and tell them they aren’t doing it the jjackass way. Lol

Overall, we won. However, my observations?
1. We are very slow on defense. We lack speed. This will be highlighted in the Ole Miss game.
2. Sims has absolutely no football IQ. He may be talented and have speed. However, his field awareness sucks.
3. Our kicking game is terrible. No other words.
4. Bad coaching still easily seen. Things like getting beat deep, in a cover 2, should never happen.
5. Lastly, we need to stop trying to make "the big hit" and go back to simply wrapping up on a tackle.

I was hoping to see better.

6. No more deep balls from sims this year

No, nobody needs to say öööö. If Saban doesn't call it at one second, it is tough öööö. The ref isn't Saban's personal assistant. It is up to Saban to call it, not cry at the ref about what he was going to do.

So anytime a coach tells a ref “hey, I’m calling my last timeout after this next play, and Im gonna call the timeout at one second before the end of regulation….but the red goes ahead and calls the timeout immediately then with 20 seconds to go on the clock…that’s the coaches fault? Just hypothetically to keep öööö straight. :D

I just emptied a 5-gallon gas can on this thread so probably a good time to slam what’s left of your White Claws and move on before I chuck the match

False starts better. Punting better.

What else?

We almost had another blocked punt. The West Carolina guy must have thoguth he was going to miss and hit the kicker, but if he'd have kept going we were toast.

Which game are you talking about? At our game I could hear people 20 yds away like I was sitting in my living room. It gets louder in a Catholic church on non-holidays than it was at last night's game. Loud was absolutely no description for Bobby Dodd last night.

No. He can say "hey, I'm gonna call a timeout after this next play" all damn day long. He still has to get in the refs face and call it. The ref's job isn't to come over and say "ummmm, were you gonna call a time out" to him

No, not ours, but I imagine it is still pretty loud with the student section.

Unlike our "fans" the student section actually showed up.

That is pretty much what happened. Coach gave him a heads up he was going to call timeout on one. Ref went ahead and called it. Only talking a few seconds but turned out the extra few seconds gave them time for a field goal try.

He wasn't asking for a personal assistant, just letting him know like pretty much every coach in the game does to be ready for it and don't miss it.

And the ref may have just heard the "time out" part. It is on the coach, not the ref.
