Post Your Georgia Tech Season Predictions

My season prediction is that we will no longer give up on a game after giving up a long TD pass. We will not look like an FCS team that was only allowed to practice 1 hour during the week.

If we win less than five I will be a sad boy. If we win five or more then I’ll be buying some nice bottles of bourbon

Really hoping to win six and make it to a bowl this year.

Being Georgia Tech, we will likely win one we shouldn’t and lose one we shouldn’t.

7-6 with a win in a low-level bowl.

Wins: SC State, Wake, BGSU, BC, UVA, Cuse, and bowl opponent.
Loses: Louisville, Ole Miss, UNC, Miami, Clemson, and UGAg.

I might be convinced to swap Louisville and Wake. Not sure what either has this year .

The reality for me is that 6 wins or less is still trash. Yes, new coach, yes, new game plan. The team wasn't blown up though.

Either we weren't recruiting at all the last few years, or the recruiting just remains terrible would be the only reason we went less than 7. Of course it can be subjective if we lose some last second grudge matches but the talent should be showing through under decent coaching.

We'll see but If results don't get delivered, it's because we're hold on to talentless players, or we're still not getting the talent we do have to produce. Both of those would be a coaching problem.

Unfortunately we're in a different era, pony up players and coaches or go find a new place to lay your head.

Wins: Louisville, SC State, Wake, BGSU, BC, UVA, and bowl opponent.

Sure W’s: SC ST, BG
Likely Wins: UVA, BC, & Syracuse
Toss Ups: WF, UNC, UL
Likely loss: Ole Miss, Miami
Sure Loss: UGA, Clemson
I’ll go with 7-5, we get our 5 wins and then snag two from the toss up and likely loss column.

The coaches actually sound like football coaches when someone talks to them publicly. I expect the team to play like they know what they are trying to do. I can live with getting beat by first rounders - but repeatedly losing due to game-day coaching stupidity and getting out-coached in preparation is ... over.

So 7-5 or 8-4. At least 4-4 in ACC - back to long term norm before taking the next step.

I would be ecstatic over a winning record but that may be a stretch if we have injuries. Most likely will start slowly and look better at end.

Georgia Tech will be 2-0 going into the Ole Miss game. Ole Miss is a toss up, but winnable.

I'm going to predict 5-0 going into the Miami game or 4-1 at worst.

Georgia Tech will go into the UGA game 9-2 with losses to Clemson and Miami / Ole Miss. We split with those 2 teams. I only say loss to Clemson because I think the Riley offense will be tough for everyone.

People predicting less than 7 have developed a complex from the former coach. The way he ran the program ran it into the ground and made the players soft. That is over and the tables will turn this year.

10-2 after we upset UGA!

Re "Welcome to Realville" thread:
On what basis would the pundits think we'd have a sudden jump in wins? Average of less than 4 wins last 4 seasons, unexciting new coach, no 5* new recruits => 4 wins again

I doubt from their outsider's perspective they'd have the predominant Tech fan view that Key is going to be the antidote to Collins.

Personally I think we'll do modestly better, 4-7 wins with 5-6 being most likely, but people will get reality checks on their Key crush.
