Post Your Georgia Tech Season Predictions

Re "Welcome to Realville" thread:
On what basis would the pundits think we'd have a sudden jump in wins? Average of less than 4 wins last 4 seasons, unexciting new coach, no 5* new recruits => 4 wins again

I doubt from their outsider's perspective they'd have the predominant Tech fan view that Key is going to be the antidote to Collins.

Personally I think we'll do modestly better, 4-7 wins with 5-6 being most likely, but people will get reality checks on their Key crush.

Considering the ineptitude of the previous coach, 6 wins and bowl game would be a heck of a season for a first year coach. I doubt even Saban would pull off 9 or 10 wins this year.

Six wins this year would be good. Seven would be very good. Eight or more would be terrible because it would never happen in this world, and therefore it would mean that I have passed on. Less than four means we are still at the circus.

6-6. I rewatched Texas A&M vs Appalachian State and Haynes King had himself a positively AJ Suggs-ish game. That scares me considerably with him named starting QB.

Georgia Tech will be 2-0 going into the Ole Miss game. Ole Miss is a toss up, but winnable.

I'm going to predict 5-0 going into the Miami game or 4-1 at worst.

Georgia Tech will go into the UGA game 9-2 with losses to Clemson and Miami / Ole Miss. We split with those 2 teams. I only say loss to Clemson because I think the Riley offense will be tough for everyone.

People predicting less than 7 have developed a complex from the former coach. The way he ran the program ran it into the ground and made the players soft. That is over and the tables will turn this year.

10-2 after we upset UGA!

I can understand your consternation but he did do good against Bama. I think he's more athletic than Suggs so I think we're better off there. Unlike when Suggs was here, we have a capable back up who has already started for us, won a conference game, tough as nails and is a crowd favorite. Our QB situation is the best it has been in a while from a depth standpoint. #2 and #3 have taken their bumps and won a game or two in their limited action.

5 wins last year playing the 3rd string QB for much of the season. This team isn’t worse and the schedule isn’t more difficult. 6 wins seems likely.

we lost some good talent on defense but so did everybody.. more importantly though i expect a more disciplined team top to bottom

oftentimes thats the difference in winning and losing
