Presser BIG CRY

CGC said CJP texted/called to offer support following the NIU loss, and expressed his confidence in CGC.

The subtext was that CJP was saying to CGC, 'just stick it out, the team will have success, just like I did.'

So, yeah, not sure CGC and jts see CJP quite the same way.

stick it out like the 5 years pastner got.....not like 2 years everyone is giving collins

Thanks, now I don't have to listen to the rest of it.

yes....something like ...."relax dude, i lost to ga st and mercer with the most experienced team in the country on my 5th year....youre all good"
I’m just saying: CGC obviously loves him some Pastner. He wanted to go dab him (or something like that) during the first quarter time out. Maybe your love for CGC can be morphed into at least a silent disdain for Pastner in the off-season.

As for the press conference itself, it is obvious CGC is not going to say anything negative about his players. He threw PJ’s under the bus, but won’t do that to his. And it’s obvious he does need people texting him that they love him after the loss.

But, bottom line, you either believe in his “process” or you don’t. I’m choosing to believe in it. I do think sometimes the way out of the lion’s den is thru the fire. Both he and the players learned from that loss and hopefully won’t make the same mistakes again.

That's what I thought. But it was essentially still his defense, and it was certainly not an effective one.

That's like blaming Fridge for the weak showing in the 2000 Peach Bowl. Except even worse the guy calling the defense was the cornerbacks coach who has yet to be a full time DC anywhere. Bill OBrien was at least the heir apparent.

He had already left for UF. But the defense was the same outside in scheme we ran against the Citadel. He needs to flip that or hope out DT just dominate.

CPJ was a great coach for us but you guys really have to let go of the TO as it really was impossible to get top shelf talent here and recruiting really was cratering in his final years here. I support Collins but I have to admit I was not pleased with what I saw out there Saturday. We looked far less prepared and excited to be there than NIU. I also didnt like our QB development. Sims has not improved and we simply cant win without a QB who can complete basic passes. Maybe this is just who Sims is but even then, dont put good money after bad. Cut your losses as not every 4-star recruit works out.

Finally, all the criticism of the OC seems unwarranted. The play designs were working as we had receivers running free everywhere. It came down to our QB not finding them or passing it to them accurately.

So he gets a call from Curry, Pastner and Coach Hixon. That's all he's got? Seriously though, who gives a sh!t? Just win the goddamned game. Also, that last question was 100% legit. Not sure why Collins thought it was funny or something. I guess it required an answer that wasn't a non-answer.
