Presser BIG CRY

Stop calling what? You act like he called the same play 16 times and it didn’t work. Sims played a quarter+ and was 3/8. When did you want him to stop calling call pass? After 1 incompletion?
So when was all the great play calls that the players didn't execute that excemps him from criticism?

My comment was is response to the criticism is unwarranted because the receivers were wide open all night. It doesn't matter how open they are, it's not a good play call if the team can't execute it.

It would be like my caddy telling me to drive a green that has a 290 forced carry but my driver only carries 270. Yeah it's a great play but after I dump a few in the water, the caddy would be a dumbass if he tells me to go for it again.

I think Patenaude had plays designed for Sims that he probably makes most of the time in practice. Sims clearly wasn't there Saturday night, at least while he was in.

When Yates came in, it forced us to call easier throws, fewer home run attempts, etc. It's the game that we probably SHOULD have called from the beginning, but it's impossible to know going in.

During the game, I was confused as to why we weren't dialing up some simpler throws for Sims. By the time we started to adjust, Sims got hurt. Unfortunate timing for sure.

Finally watched the presser as well.

I honestly think it wasn't too bad until the end. There really was no reason for him to act that way in response to Ken's question. Honestly, it felt like Ken understood what the fanbase needed to hear, "We understand you are upset. We are upset too, and we are working hard to fix it.." and was setting up a question to draw that out of him. Geoff took it a different way and got defensive.

Also agree with what others have said about the P-naude presser. Much more professional. Gave me confidence that we understand what went wrong. I didn't get that from Collins.

Obviously he doesn't care about the fans at all. That's okay, because with the rate the apathy is growing there won't be any fans left at the end of the year to worry about.
Not going to any more games this year, not worth my time or money.

Where can I find Patenaude's presser? I haven't seen it yet

I guess my question would be at what point should Patenaude be held responsible for not having a good offense? If we continue to have trouble generating points against fairly poor competition, I'm just not sure how long we can chalk it up to 'good play design, poor execution.' There has to come a point when you're designing and calling plays that are not only effective on a theoretical level, but that your players are capable of executing on a regular basis in games. That's been a big issue through his first 23 games as OC.

I really like Thacker and I really want him to do well. He seems bright and strikes me as head coaching material down the road if he can actually field some good defenses here. I am bummed that it hasn't worked out yet.

If he can find a way to not slowly call in defensive plays from the sidelines so we are actually set before the other team snaps the ball, he'll look a lot better.

Q: Coach Collins, some of your customers are upset about the Ford Tempo you sold them last week. The struts and shocks were shot and it overheated and stranded them on the side of the connector. Can you give us some thoughts about your customers' concerns?

Collins: 30 sec awkward silence.... That Ford Tempo is a great car. You can fit a family of four in it and it gets great gas mileage.

It would be nice, if the team is going to have TE's on the squad, to have a few plays involving them

Patenaude's presser is exponentially better. He takes responsibility and owns the problems. Not a bunch of horseshit.

agree. I was pleasantly surprised….even though he sounds like he should be catching waves with Bodie at Baja.

We were getting more than 10 yards per carry in the first quarter. Then we throw three times in a row forcing 4th and long then miss a couple of field goals. Just run the damn ball for 10 yards a play until they stop it. We would have been up 14-0 if we didn’t kick and didn’t throw.

We completely stopped ourselves.

Go back and watch and you’ll see an offense that is working until the play calling strangles it.
