He bailed to be the DC at Florida. Left a guy who had been a DB for the Steelers, I think, in charge.
Let's see, that defense had ... Chris Jones (now with the Chiefs) ... Bernardick McKinney (had been with Texans, now with somebody else) ... IIRC
Yeah ... 450 rushing yards later ....
 
I really like Thacker and I really want him to do well. He seems bright and strikes me as head coaching material down the road if he can actually field some good defenses here. I am bummed that it hasn't worked out yet.

But, bottom line, you either believe in his “process” or you don’t. I’m choosing to believe in it. I do think sometimes the way out of the lion’s den is thru the fire. Both he and the players learned from that loss and hopefully won’t make the same mistakes again.

They made some of those "mistakes" last year. What makes you think after this past Saturday that they have learned anything?

Let’s hope that he has learned from the Citadel debacle. GT isn’t talented enough to line up and beat just any one. Going to be pretty damning if GT doesn’t get any pressure this week/disrupt plays in the backfield.

Also, him/Collins learning how to make quicker substitutions needs to happen pronto.

Wouldn't the OC see that the Qb couldn't find them or give them an accurate pass? If it's not working, stop calling it. It's like they go into the game saying play #62 is going to be a run and it doesn't matter if it is 2nd and 1 or 3rd and 18.

I said in his first year that it looked like he was coaching a spring game all year just trying to teach the offense. The season was a freebie so they didn't even try to win the games. I didn't like it then but thought maybe they are building for the future.

Now in year 3 and it's the same öööö. It's like they are not even watching the game. A run play will work 3 times but they won't run it again so they can throw it three times and be balanced.

They need to coach to win the game.

Patenaude sounds like the HC. His reasoning for going for it on fourth was sound. He’s calm and cool during pressers. He isn’t adversarial nor does he fluff things up. He has a much better presence. He seems infinitely more comfortable in his skin.

Collins should take notes.

Stop calling what? You act like he called the same play 16 times and it didn’t work. Sims played a quarter+ and was 3/8. When did you want him to stop calling call pass? After 1 incompletion?

Agree. For a brand/marketing guy our HC has zero ability to communicate anything other that his scripted cliches. Embarrassing.
