Presser BIG CRY

Sounds like he at least realizes that he is not exactly in a good place with the fans right now. Lots of implied whining, bringing up people who support him and have reached out to him. I think he needs to show some genuine humility and admit to the fans that we sucked Saturday night and take responsibility for it. He never did answer the final question about the fans. He just smirked.
Absolutely. He left out the most important word he should have used over and over during the entire press conference —- “UNACCEPTABLE”.

The preparation was unacceptable.
The lack execution was unacceptable.
The effort was unacceptable.
The coaching strategy and adjustments were unacceptable.
But most of all, the outcome was unacceptable.

But instead we got...

KSU has one of the best offenses and defenses of all college football.
One of our players scored off the charts on the hustle meter.
Josh Pastner and I drunk texted each other at 2am after the game.
Jeff Sims played great, wtf are you talking about?
I was DC at Mississippi State when we were no. 1 for 5 weeks, so I know wtf I'm doing.

We won't miss any of you. Fair weather fans are the worst fans in the world. I'd rather the stadium be empty that full of "fans" like that.

As an aside, however, for years here there have been ongoing conversations about how to attract fair weather fans, often called Atlanta's transient "sidewalk fans," to buy tickets and come to our games....

Games were actually quite enjoyable last season.

I'll be there this week, after finally getting out of Austin. It would make me very happy not to have to sit anywhere close to the whiny bitches on this board who would let a loss keep them from attending.

Buncha little crybabies. Stay home. Nobody wants your little bitch asses anywhere nearby.

Did Kelly actually say "less competent than Josh Pastner"?

That was Ken Suguira talking. And he said "less confident than Josh Pastner is" which I am assuming is some reference to Pastner being confident in Collins.

Yes, it was Ken and "less confident" than CJP. The CJP reference was a clarification after CGC said "what?". Clarification being (WTTE) "a portion of the fanbase (not happy with Saturday ) less confident than Pastner". It was a reference back to CGC going on and on, earlier in the presser, about how some folks are just in his corner and he went to some length to describe Pastner's support, i.e. confidence.

Been a sidewalk fan for years. In 1969 started selling programs at the games so I could get a ticket to get in. Had season tickets for many years, gave them up this year because what I see on the field to me, is not enjoyable. So some here think fans like me won't be missed. They might be right. Based on what we hear though, Todd Stansbury better miss us because he is in dire need of the revenue. Assuming of course, he survives this debacle he calls a football coach.

Finally getting out of Austin? Can you him a few bars? I don't know that one

And there is nothing worse than being near a fan that complains incessantly. I sat near a fan during our ass kicking of Miami one year when CPJ was coach who was complaining "why doesn't he throw the ball?"

That is so funny to me! I remember during the Pepper years of running the wishbone hearing the same thing. Maybe it was the same guy!

"Well, my dog died just the other day, left me all alone.
The finance company came by today and repossessed my home.
But that's just a drop in the bucket compared to losing you,
and I'm down to seeds and stems again too."

Everybody sing!!!

I will say that Ken over complicated the question. The Pastner piece was irrelevant. It could have been simply: what you say to the fans that are unhappy about Saturday’s result?

and the answer should have been: “I’m more pissed off than you are. I’m going to make sure this never happens again.”

1) not sure I can watch another Collins press conference. That last question was ridiculous cringe. No ownership at all.

2) losing fan support and attendance at a time when our program is cratering. Snowball rolling downhill. Anyone taking lightly that people are choosing just stay away needs to rethink their stance.

3) I'll be at every game but I'm close to adding a paper bag to my pregame checklist.

They also need to realize at this point they are competing with man caves and HD TV's .. makes it real enticing to stay home. Especially when you are a college football nut (not just GT).

I say this and ive missed maybe two games since 1998. Like @GT flunkout said, I'll be at every game. If I'm physically able.

Though being mentally able might be more critical ... if we keep losing.

I am in the totally po'd at Collins camp, and I am almost at the point of not even caring anymore, but for the sake of a little dignity and any hope whatsoever for the future, I hope somebody makes Collins aware of just how badly he screwed himself and the team yesterday in that presser while he still has a glimmer of hope of restoring any confidence at all of the fan base towards him. The final 30 seconds of that presser have been seen now by a helluva lot of people, and they (we) are not a happy bunch. Just reading the posts made here this morning shows that this ain't going away anytime soon. He damn well needs to address the fact that he at least seemed not to give a damn about the fans and apologize for that apparent flippancy, or he's toast.
