Presser BIG CRY

That statement is absolutely untrue.
I would say it is pretty close to being completely true. We had our moments and couldn't take advantage of them. They had theirs and did. The point is that it's over, and everybody knows it except Collins and his die-hard supporters. It's just a matter of time now

FTRS thinks we were weaker and slower than NIU, but expects us to win 3-4 this year, then change coordinators and win 5-7 next year, then fire the guy? I gotta say, absolutely not one single segment of that line of thought makes sense to me.

One, if we're not able to physically compete at NIU's level, this is a 1 win season. End of sentence. Not 3-4. Every other team we play is miles above NIU physically.

Two, why would we expect to improve to 5-7 wins in a year where we shuffle our coordinators? Immediate coaching success is pretty rare.

Three, if we win 5-7 next year after 3-4 this year, why would we fire the guy? He'd be showing improvement at that point...

Bleh. I don't get it.

If our OL was physically outmatched averaging 5 ypc, then I hope we are outmatched all year. Our DL held the center pretty well. Our corners had pretty good coverage. Two niu drives were extended by outstanding catches, not poor coverage.

We got out coached. NIU had a gameplan and adjustments we couldn’t match. They took away the outside run, deep pass, and basically any slow developing play. We refused to take what was given. Maybe Pat didn’t trust his backup QB to adjust the calls.

I will say our LT did not have a good game. He seemed out of sync with the LG and our RB. But I may be blaming the LT for another players screw up.

I'm not so sure he is saying that that IS the scenario that will play out as he is saying that is the kind of scenario that might play out, with once again us not doing as good as the "experts" say we will do.

1) not sure I can watch another Collins press conference. That last question was ridiculous cringe. No ownership at all.

2) losing fan support and attendance at a time when our program is cratering. Snowball rolling downhill. Anyone taking lightly that people are choosing just stay away needs to rethink their stance.

3) I'll be at every game but I'm close to adding a paper bag to my pregame checklist.
Put a chin diaper (mask) over your eyes. I’ve considered it.

And there is nothing worse than being near a fan that complains incessantly. I sat near a fan during our ass kicking of Miami one year when CPJ was coach who was complaining "why doesn't he throw the ball?"
I sat right in front of a lady who would remark incessantly on every defensive play that the opposing offense was holding. Her husband would roll his eyes and say “yes dear“. It was pretty funny and became a running joke.

I'll be there this week, after finally getting out of Austin. It would make me very happy not to have to sit anywhere close to the whiny bitches on this board who would let a loss keep them from attending.

Buncha little crybabies. Stay home. Nobody wants your little bitch asses anywhere nearby.
Hey @H-town. Good meeting y’all the other day.

So you're just looking to complain. 401 total yards to 301. 25 first downs to 15. How is that getting manhandled? The Clemson game last year was getting manhandled. That was not the case last weekend.

We lost because of bad coaching decisions at the worst times, i.e. kick the field goal...take the points!!!!!

I would say there is PLENTY to complain about in that game. Manhandled may be too strong a word, but I didn't write the article, and he's entitled to his opinion, which I still say is at least somewhat adequate, given the way things played out. And yes, bad coaching decisions caused the lost, just like they have done in several games under Collins.

Our DL was nonexistent (0 sacks,1 TFL?), which sort of points to getting handled by the NIU OL.

It seemed like our RBs were having to work hard for yards (no big holes), and on several occasions I saw an OL get thrown around or end the play on the ground under a DL. That sort of points to getting handled by the NIU DL.

It wasn’t an ass-kicking like Clemson, but it didn’t look like we had clear physical superiority over them in terms of size, strength, and speed, either.

We had numerous runs where first contact was 3 yards beyond the LOS between the tackles. It was those lateral runs where the backs had pressure.

Gibbs had a long run of 19 yards. Excluding his long run, he averaged 4.3 ypc. Mason had a long of 24 yards. He averaged over 5 ypc excluding his long run. That isn’t getting manhandled.

Especially after all the off season hoopla about our strength and conditioning.
