Reasons for Randy Edsall...

Take a lesson from the juiced up players and balls in the Major Leagues, or the absence of defense in the NBA, the average walk up fan wants to see scoring; it is almost as important as winning these days and shouldn't be ignored.

Hense the reason that many Americans also hate the most popular sport in the world - soccer...

(I know many of you might have other reasons, and I don't want to hear them)

Disagree. There is a huge way to excite the fanbase now - recruiting. All y'all are fretting that we will lose recruits. If a coach comes in, secures those that jumped back on the fence, and then goes out and locks down linemen in January to move the class toward the Top 10, everyone will be excited immediately. If he starts a buzz amongst the recruits that they are excited by the new coach, the fans will follow.

Yes, but this also follows along the same lines as winning. It isn't instantaneous and we won't know the results the day after the hiring (unless, and god forbid, we don't hire someone until the day before signing day). We don't know which coach will win us the most games. We don't know which coach will get us the best recruits. Sure, we can look at history and it serves as a way of predicting, but I don't think that Edsall brings the most to the table in those regards either...

Sorry 56, I know he was your coach, but without Friedgen, O'Leary is a good not great coach.

Don't get me wrong either, I loved GOL but when he left, I wasn't upset.

And, without Tenuta Chan would have been fired 4 years ago! The Braineless wonder got Tenuta for Chan and saved his ass for 6 seasons.

GOL does not have Friedgen at UCF and is doing very well! Took over a piece of crap there and made it into a viable program.

Nor do I. Your post was more about exciting the fans by winning, which obviously won't happen until the Fall. Having the recruits' eyes light up when the see who they'll have a chance to play for is an immediate headrush for the fans, because it would start showing up immediately on these 'cruitin' websites.

We can get into the semantics of it all day I guess. I could say chan was nothing without tenuta and would have been gone years ago without him....

Hey 56 - I said it for you - Tenuta saved his butt that's why he lasted 6 seasons.
