Roof to NC State

We don't have the best track record with that in the last ten years or so. I mean, I can't wait for the next Al Groh to come in here.

Past decade was just a series of coincidences. Here's our roadmap, the good part is pretty obvious (hint: step [3])

1. Hire new DC
2. ????? :stir:
3. ProFiT

Wait one dad blang minute!

Do we play ncsu next year?!

If so, this is obviously some nefarious scheme to get inside info on GT.

ACC should step in and stop this - Big Damn Cry!

If the new hire does not work out, it very well could be end of CPJ at GT.

And sewak will be promoted to executive vice President of the alumni association. At the least.

Haters gonna Hate. Congratulations to each and every one of you. You deserve the gloating satisfaction that only comes with seeing someone else crash and burn and wallow in misery. I'm sure most all of you can identify with that.

Go Jackets!

No ONE person is more important than the team.

CTR worked hard and he got paid very well.

He has landed on his feet pretty darn nicely.

Many here, I am willing to bet, wish they could have crashed and burned in the same fashion when it happened to them.

But I will not be surprised one bit if, within the week, Bill Curry has a "look and listen to me" moment.

I got tired, very tired watching the CTR coached defenses when GOL was here, lucky for GT we had some play makers on offense that could make plays and score. There were way too many games when the offense had to outscore opponents just to have a chance to win games. I always enjoyed watching CTR play on the Flats during the Bill Curry years, but his coaching left a lot to be desired.

No. Life is good. Just wish our DC could be as well.

I think most here just want Tech to succeed and are collectively frustrated.

I believe Roof is just a scape goat. How many successful DCs has CPJ had here again? I see one thing in common amongst the trail of discarded DCs and thats the HC. At some point you stop looking at defensive coordinator scheme and start questioning the HC scheme.

Jerry will.

Jerry is fine and I somewhat understand his sentiment. However, Roof absolutely sucks as a coach. I wish him the best but I’m glad he’s no longer here. There’s another font who will show up later to white knight for Roof and will be a huge ass.

Not fair to blame CPJ. CPJ wanted Ellis as DC but cheapskate MBob wouldn't pay for him and gave CPJ some pocket change and wished him good luck.
Get your facts straight. *Ten years ago* CPJ wanted to hire Ellis Johnson but didn't have the money. Johnson subsequently was DC at 2 SEC schools and HC at Southern Miss. CPJ has hired a couple of DC's since he considered Johnson.

Could have have handled two Coach Johnsons anyhow? We've struggled enough with CPJ/CJP.

His buyout goes way down soon
Yeah, people who talk about buyout don't read this board very carefully. His buyout is already quite reasonable (all things considered, in the world of coaching).

We can't afford a reasonable buyout.

It’s the talent (or lack thereof) that dooms us.
