Say it ain't so Calvin :(

The case that a great receiver makes a mistake by going to Bama just doesn’t stand up under evidence. The case you can make is that many highly rated recruits at any position make a mistake signing with Bama if there are several players even more talented ahead of them at their position. Many of Bama’s second team players would be featured starters somewhere else.

Well, it seems that it would be a difficult decision if you were a 4-star wideout prospect, being pursued by Alabama and by Georgia Tech. Let's just dream and say Tech has improved our passing game to the point where we are no longer passing for 1000 yards per season, but have upped that to, say, 2000 yards per season. Alabama has maintained 2700 yards passing per season. Alabama has a stable of highly recruited, excellent receivers already on their roster and they are recruiting others in your recruiting class. You might have trouble getting playing time for your entire career. Tech has little or no talent at WR and besides you, they are not targeting any elite receivers in this recruiting class. You are virtually assured of seeing the field as a true or redshirt freshman and you would probably be the favorite receiver with the most opportunities. But, you would also draw the tightest coverage from opposing defenses. And Georgia Tech uses their WR as decoys, and they must be able to block. Another post exquisitely outlined a significant point--Alabama has no academic expectations or requirements of you. Georgia Tech, quite the opposite, but there is a valuable diploma available from the Institute. Alabama might offer better coaching but Georgia Tech has put some good receivers into the league. So? What do you do? If you simply can't do the school work, then Alabama is the only choice (or any one of a dozen other, similar programs). If you are a competent student, Tech has some advantages, but it would be difficult not to accept Alabama's offer. I imagine many players, like a Justin Thomas, face this every year. I wonder if JT would recommend choosing Tech?

Real talk, kids that get drafted out of bama would get drafted anywhere. They go to bama because at bama you never have to go to class, fear the law, budget, or go to bed alone. Relatively speaking.

Are you saying Athens PD is the biggest detriment to uga's title chances?

Kirby’s working on that. I’ve got a feeling we’re going to see a lot less arrests in Athens moving forward. I think that’s a big part of Saban’s process. Cheat hard early; win; own the hearts of the local government; profit.

Sabans Process: "We have guys as good as you or better on the bench. Don't make me have to sit you down".
