Slow Progress

Then why did we suck the last few years if our roster wasn't depleted? We were being manhandled on the line by such big time teams as Duke.

We were shocked and wanted Gailey fired IMMEDIATELY when he dared to lose to Duke. Now, the 3-O apologists spin Duke as to somehow being a world beater the last several years of CPJ. Our offense helped Duke beat us. It helped them in recruiting.

Did we suck? Seems like we were winning twice as many games as we are now. Now the Pnope apologist want to spin this somehow despite the weakest ACC schedule in anyone's memory.

Tomato tomato.

Yea, this is the part that blows my mind. We should be competing for the Coastal. The conference is a ööööing joke.

We're not getting better. We're not making progress. The rest of the ACC is playing down to our level now.

Key is on a 2 year deal, so he would be owed a buyout. He was offered 750k to go to USCe. He isn't going anywhere unless he wants to and he isn't taking a pay cut.

If we parted ways with Key, he would have a job at another ACC or SEC school within a month. No one else on our staff can claim that except Collins (but not as a HC).

uga and clemson, both of whom rolled a lot of teams.

Minn in a bowl game the players mailed in just like the Tenuta coached bowl.

Who was the 4th?
Sorry. My bad. Duke was only 3 scores.

We are getting better and we are making progress. Just not as fast as we would like.
What is the peak for the staff in your mind based on the on field product so far?

At some we have to turn a corner. We got the players and getting more, but the coaching must improve or we're going to see more of the same. What does that mean? I think you already know.

Eyeball test. Sims can make plays Yates can't. Yates could work with a good OL and good defense. As it is, we need big play ability because the line can't hold for a long drive without a couple WTF moments. With Yates, those turn into enormous sacks or intentional grounding. With Sims, maybe he turns it over or maybe he makes a play.

And our defense sucks too much to win by kicking field goals.

Eyeball test? One QB is a pick machine, and there are more that were overturned by penalties.

Sims isn't a Pick Machine, to say that you must have a preconceived, bullcrap agenda!

What do you have against Sims?

His Teammates recognize him as a hard worker and a leader on the Team, if Sims was a weasel, and not a Team first Guy , you could tell, his teammates respect his work ethic and see him trying his best to win.

In a results oriented industry, Brent Key has shown nothing. Pay the buyout and move on.

I think Sims has a lot of potential.

I don't think we have a coaching staff that can develop that potential.
Sims will have exhausted his eligibility before he approaches anything resembling a good qb. His coaches belong at Temple.
