So Yates is starting

Reading this thread for first time: Yates cheerleaders gotta feel pretty good off the second data point. Just hope we get out of next week's grinder wothout any serious injuries.

With this staff I wouldn’t be surprised if Sims starts against Clemson

I think he probably does if close to 100 percent. I can't say if that's right or wrong. Tough to not give Sims another shot after 1 bad quarter if he might be who the staff thinks he is. But Yates is a really good fit because accurate short passes and turnover-free ball are what we have really needed. I lean Yates but expect to see Sims when he is healthy. Dunno when that will be.

I'm hoping that seeing Yates ball out inspires Sims and his floor rises significantly

So what about starting Yates and throwing Sims in 2nd half? May keep mr grab me by the belt choir boy, guessing..... Just a thought

ATL works to our advantage this week. Clemson has to prepare for two different QB's.

We need all the advantages we can get. If only the OL would start playing at the level we expected.

I don't see how Sims can play against Clemson if he is still wearing that gismo

I hear that Sims could have gone but would benefit from another week off. And hey, its KSU so the game was not at stake.

I imagine Yates got so many snaps so deep into the game because he could benefit from them.

Hope Sims is ready for Clemson and has a good week leading up to the game. If he is not ready or has a poor week in practice, I am glad we have Yates to step in. Class kid. Great competitor. Great teammate. I talked with someone whose daughter literally dated him in HS, and he said nothing but praise for him as a young man, unlike another football player on the team who ironically went to Clemson.

One Stingtalker, can't remember who, advised Yates on this board to transfer. Glad that did not happen.

Google his name this morning and see all the buzz about Jordan. Been a while since we saw that for a QB here.

If there's one thing CGC can do to lose the fans completely now, it's to start Sims over Yates. And I don't want to hear any garbage about measurables. Yates is an inch taller than Russell Wilson and he has the eyes of a fighter pilot. But more than that, he was drilling receivers in the endzone 20 yards out, addressing the oft-cited concern about his arm strength.

Its on his non throwing arm.
You realize that your other arm is part of a throwing motion, holding a football, taking a snap, it gets hit. He may not be physically throwing it with his left arm, but it is necessary

FWIW, if it wasn't evident by the fact that Beatty came in for that one play when Yates' helmet came off, Sims was only dressed and available for an emergency situation. Deepnding on how he heals, he very well could be the starter against Clemson next week. IMO, we start Yates and if we get down a couple scores and are having a hard time getting anything going against Clemson's D, we'll probably bring Sims back in and see if he creates any spark.

It's not that big of a contraption, it's just an elbow brace similar to the knee braces OL wear.

Not to mention, Yates was a 4 star guy out of high school just like Sims...and he was actually rated higher (#6 vs. #11 in his Dual Threat QB group). Jordan Yates is not some local two star scrub. He belongs and absolutely should be able to hang with Sims.

I have no issue if Yates becomes the next Russell Wilson. Obviously, that comparison is there. Wilson is about 6' tall, 210. Yates about 6' tall 200. Both have very high football IQ's. Know plays. Make things happen with their legs. Neither has mind blowing speed, but are elusive enough. Yates seems to do a hell of a job keeping his head up and scanning the field when #1 WR isn't open.
