Sources say CPJ could step aside after this season?

The ones who enjoy being miserable are the ones who don't get too upset about losing to Duke and, instead, bend over ass-backwards to excuse such losses.

I.E. You.

The ones who DON'T enjoy being miserable are the ones who are tired of losing by 20+ pts to Duke, having losing seasons, missing bowls, and being completely irrelevant.

I.E. Me.
So, we've never had a coach you were happy with.

Where'd you get that from? Being a student watching Boss Ross build a natty was an awesome experience. Buying season tickets for the last 3 years of JoeHam's career with Friedgen was a ton of fun. Watching us beat the mutts 3 IAR and beat Notre Shame at the Gator Bowl were highlights.

I know of only one coach who's been blown out by Duke 3 of 4 seasons in a row and had missed bowls and losing seasons 2 of 3 in a row the past 25 years or so. Only one coach who shrugs his shoulders and says "IIWII" to mediocrity.

Full disclosure: My Tech fandom started with Ross when I came to the campus in 1987.

Not buying it. He is finally getting the stuff he has been asking for. I think he will ride out the James Graham/ Nate Woody era and that will be it. My only caveat would be if this season is actually disastrous, that could change the situation.

Key word there is "likelier". All that means is that if things got bad enough that GT was considering firing him, he'd already have resigned. I feel like that's been common knowledge for years now, so that quote is a bunch of nothing that people are blowing out of proportion.

This. I don't think either scenario is all that likely. I'm more likely to hook up with an Instagram model than I am to hook up with Taylor Swift.

It's the other way around for me, oddly enough.

*Potential thread derail* Do you mean you'd be more inclined to hook up with Taylor Swift or that she would be more inclined to hook up with you than an Instagram model would?

So you guys think CPJ could have a 6-6 season and not be on the hotseat? That would give us a bowl game.

6-6 is my prediction. I think it depends on the types of losses for this to generate warmth under CPJ's seat. I.E. Lose to Clemson, Miami, mutts is one thing. Losing to Puke at home, Cadavers, USF etc is another.

A 1-game improvement with a Sr. QB isn't a particularly good season. Only marginally better than a thump in the balls. But if he loses to the good teams and beats the losers, he'll be OK going into 2019.

Yikes... sad

Jeez, such expectations.

Unless something unorthodox happens this season (good or bad) I don't see him leaving. But his agent did, in fact, contact others.

I don't " like" him necessarily, but think he deserves to work with upgrades we are putting in.

But he is gone at some point, and the important thing is we commit to getting a total, traditional football coach.

It would have to be a pretty specific 6-6 season to avoid the hot seat. Like being 3-6 going into the Miami game, subbing out QBs and watching the new guy crush the last three games, so we're all looking forward to next season. But any season where we lose 6 games is going to have to involve too many familiar notes. Either the offense is going to have to sputter or the defense is going to have to fall to the bottom of the league. Then there'd be questions about why we didn't make the changes that produced success earlier in the season. Even then, I can't find 6 opponents on the schedule I wouldn't mind losing to. Hell, I can't even find 2.

Personally, I really feel like even an 8 win season will be disappointing, given our OOC. BGSU is a free win, and we *should* destroy USF, so we're 3-0 already, in my mind. Finding 5 people to beat out of the remaining 9 is not a big accomplishment, because that pretty much means you lost to the "big 4" again. Anybody can do that. This new defense needs to click and this team needs to make waves in our conference schedule, and we need to beat Georgia. I'm willing to excuse one conference WTF loss and a Clemson loss, but we need to beat VT and Miami and play for the conference, and I'll be happy. Anything short of that and we're leaving stuff we can absolutely accomplish on the table.

We had Miami's ass last year and we actually beat VT, and we weren't that good overall. We can do all this stuff, and it's time.

I mean, a large number of Instagram models are basically prostitutes. And Taylor Swift is an angel. So of course you could hook up with an IG slut.
