Sources say CPJ could step aside after this season?

Ross took over a no-talent bare cupboard and won a natty in 4 years.

CPJ took over a NFL-laden team and went 6-7 just 3 years later and hasn't sniffed a natty here. Ross was also a better recruiter. CPJ is the king of IIWII. That had never been uttered on the Flats before his arrival.

I've not called for CPJ's head as you imply, which makes you a liar, but that's your character.
Those nfl players were groomed and develooed under CPJ's staff and he should get credit for that. Also we were in the title conversation in 2009 when we were 10-1 going into the Georgia game. I'd call that "sniffing". Not real close but in the discussion

I don't credit CPJ for developing anyone on the D side of those teams. It's telling we've had nothing close to that defense ever since. Hopefully Woody will turn things around.

The ones who DON'T enjoy being miserable are the ones who are tired of losing by 20+ pts to Duke, having losing seasons, missing bowls, and being completely irrelevant.

And how many times has CPJ done this versus having good seasons?

You choose to ignore when the team does well and include injury outlier seasons ‘15 or a bad season like last year as indicative of his coaching rather than every other season here. If ‘18 is a repeat of ‘17 he’ll rightfully be on the hot seat.

Any reason YOU choose to wallow in 2 bad seasons versus the good ones? I’m not miserable, I actually enjoy following the team and buy tickets/contribute $ to the program. Doesn’t mean I’m not disappointed with bad outcomes, I just choose to not ööööing cry in every single post about football.

You didn’t call for his head? Just denigrated and lied about him.

Ross was allowed to recruit. Johnson has to recruit with one arm tied behind his back. Some of that is due to changes in ncaa rules, some because Georgia Tech.

If you change coaches without changing the underlying structure, it’ll still be the same.

If we don't "bead" Puke, the Cadavers, USF, etc, will you promise not to make a bunch of excuses, like the mediocrity-embracing loser you are?

I know your bar of excellence is beating those teams - some people have higher ideas of success than you.

6-6 is my prediction. What's yours, Shoulder shrugger?
Point out a single excuse I’ve made or shut the öööö up.
Then quit moving the goalposts and answer the question.

drama much?

the underlying structure didn't change from 2007 to 2009. The HC did.

no argument that we're tough to recruit for. but some coaches are simply better at it than others.

I was a happy, vocal supporter in 2014 and 16, as the game threads will show. Nor do I complain in every post. Selective reading isn't your friend though melodramatic responses appear to be.

and it's not just 2 seasons of below-avg. football. 6-7 in 2010, crappy losses in lower-tier bowls, blown 20 pt leads at home vs mutts, etc. He's had 4 good seasons (08,09,14,16), 3 bad ones (10,15,17), and the rest is Gailey'esque.

I just don't understand the near-worship and veneration of the guy nor the belief that he's the best we can or will ever do....nor the anger and butt-hurtedness this opinion generates among many posters here.

you're right. let's fire CPJ and get somebody like Lane Kiffen in here. He knows what it takes to win at the highest level and has the moral integrity to navigate the Hill. I'm tired of succeeding like we have with Paul. I'm on the LANE TRANE! WHOO WHOOO.

seriously, go to athens, buy a hat and some skoal. Hope you get lip cancer. jackass.

why does my non-embracing of losing 3 of 4 to Duke and not thrilled with 6-7 win seasons anger you so much?

No goalposts moved, thankfully. CPJ doesn't recruit PKs very well, with one exception.

No, it's just 'rah-rah' fan enthusiasm for the players and staff currently associated with the program.

Particularly before the season even starts, "fans" are optimistic. Save your complaints for the end of the season.

100% of the time when faced with the dismal realities of 2010, 15, and 17, ööööing idiots reply with stupidity like the above.

EABOD, you ööööing loser. 2015 and 2017 are no one's idea of success but yours. Take that shit to Southern.

Nor do i understand, i just dont like us being looked at also-rans in some lower tier bowl or another ho-hum season.

Yeah, as long as he has administration support, he's gonna coach until he wins something so big that folks can't question the 'system' anymore.
The only way that happens is if he wins the natty. He's already had us finish top 10 twice during his tenure at Tech. The only way people wont question the triple option is if he wins the big one.

I witnessed the Bill Lewis years. Where were you? Piedmont park giving angry handy j's to hobos in exchange for rent?

um, this topic is about the end of the season lol.

The "optimistic" fans sure get pissed at anyone who dares to have a different opinion.

I saw 'em too. Saw all the Ross years and had season tickets for most of Friedgen's years.

BTW, The personal stuff doesn't really help your argument and, as an aside, you're not very good at it. Lame homo jokes? What's next - yer-mom stuff? Does that make 2015 and 2017 'successful' seasons?

Wow! you johnson lovers never cease to amaze me when a poster states somethingyou don't like, lip cancer??

Can we all not agree that most of us would like to have a better football team? Most college fans do want their team to be better. Some of us believe the way to achieve that is to make a coaching change. When Gailey was the coach, that was the prevailing attitude. When Pepper was the coach, that was the prevailing attitude, when Bill Le**s was the coach that was the prevailing attitude. Today it is not the prevailing attitude--YET. The present coach wins just enough to stay employed. "Calling for his head" and wanting Tech to do better are two very different activities. My concern is that the prevailing attitude today is similar to when Gailey was starting to wobble. We aren't going 1-10, like we once did, we are going to bowl games somewhat regularly, we have won some big games, so let's not mess that up by changing coaches. Where are we going to find a better coach? We aren't a good gig anymore. The risk of getting worse outweighs the reward of getting better. So we sit on our hands. We made a change from Gailey (too late IMHO) but we did get better. It can be done.
