Hell yes, and they should. My only point is that CPJ would have probably been fired after 2015 and would definitely have been fired after 2017 if not for 2014, 2009, and to a lesser degree 2016 and 2008. Ups and downs are better (IMO) than consistent mediocrity, because at least you can point to the highs as a realistic possibility if you can identify and repeat what got you there.Oh I completely agree that CPJ is guilty of raising the bar by which he is judged to a very high level. But if Dabo or Saban or Urban go 3-9 this year followed by 5-7, don't you thing the natives would get restless--even if it were just a tiny bit?
I have been a big PJ fan even before he was at GT, so obviously I like him and want him to stay. But if we miss a bowl again, I think it's time. That said, I expect 8-9 wins minimum and think this will be a dead discussion by season's end.
