This is true, however you really cannot blame a player if UGA offers. Right now, UGA is the Playboy centerfold asking you to be their boyfriend. Sometimes you later find out you need a girl that can cook and milk a cow.
I also don't like that analogy. But there's some truth there.
In this case, I find myself having to remind myself that he was a 17-18 year-old kid, and that he was having to make adult decisions at that time. Which makes it a little easier to stomach that a) his dad was a GT grad, and b) he said things like this when he originally committed:
The decision to commit to Georgia Tech was one that his family loves. “Especially my dad since he went to Georgia Tech. He is happy for me."
Scroggs will not be entertaining any more offers even if they come from any of the blue bloods. ""I'll tell them I am all set and going to Georgia Tech. I am happy with my decision. Recruits are committing and they all had chances."
Several of the schools recruiting Griffin have already received text messages letting them know he was committing to Georgia Tech. “I told them thank you for recruiting me and showing the interest in me that you did."
...then a little over a month later jumped straight to uGA as soon as they came knocking.
To be fair, though, dude has 2 national championship rings to show for it. Which as much as I hate it, is a far cry from playing from our former coach for 2 years.
