Targeting???

Replay on ESPNU now my initial thought when watching game is that targeting or not the refs blew the whistle for forward progress.. everyone is just standing around cause whistle blew.. except HK who is unconscious sitting on the ground
Definitely thought the same. Looked like line judge was running in with his hand up.

Another “weird” thing about the officials is the clock on UGA’s last drive of the first half.

The game clock was slow to start when they snapped the ball, but by God, it stopped right on time when a pass hit the ground or a UGA player ran out of bounds. I think they ran a 2 second play at one point.

The only plausible solution is for ugag to lose this weekend and then match up against us in the Gator bowl. Would have to be the best ratings and crowd that bowl will have. The ACC and our AD with a new raise should begin lobbying immediately.

Regardless, you can bet your ass Key will be the new Bobby Cox of college football with these referees. There’s no way another one of these happens without a sideline meltdown.

Correct, they let them run a play in less time than you can spike the ball.

Another thing that was awful was when their DL did a quick shift that caused our OL to jump. Beginning this year, that should be called a false start on the defense. Happened two plays before HK fumbled and again in OT
They did a lot of what I had been led to believe were illegal shifts, but none of them were ever called.
There are no "illegal shifts" on defense. The new rule is they can't make a call that "simulates a snap." Basically, they can't use an audible call that sounds like what the offense uses as their snap cadence, nor clap. It is 100% legal for them to "stem"- that is the correct term for a sudden DL shift. If they were yelling or clapping when to do it, then yes it should have been a penalty. Just the shift itself is not.

I guess we told him.
Yes we did

Gotta be this one? I completely and wholeheartedly disagree BTW. Just posting for info.

Even if our hit was targeting, there's a huge difference. They got a TD anyway, while we lost the ball to a fumble.

Consequences were not nearly the same.
