Tech Opens A 14 Pt Underdog To Ole Miss…

If Sims doesn't step up BIG time we will be giving the ball back to Ole miss way TOO much and they will hang a real beat down on us. l

Agree that this game hinges on the O moving the ball and chewing some clock (giving the D time to rest). We can’t have 3 and outs in a row.

For three quarter the offense did just that against Clemson. The two blocked punts and the play where Clemson’s QB pulled a horseshoe out of his tail when he lateral the ball while getting sacked on 3rd and long was too much to overcome. I’m assuming Ole Miss’s D is not as good as Clemson so if our O can produce like it did against Clemson and close the deal with some scores, we’ll have a ball game on our hands. But …. GT hasn’t showed the bookies and the betting public they can put it together thus the 16 point spread.

Why haven’t I at least made money betting against Collins? Should’ve started gambling after that Citadel game

I think we are going to need more than the 10 points and one redzone trip our O "produced" against Clemson to beat Ole Miss.

Like I said … close the deal with some scores. Also, the O did nothing the first quarter against Clemson but started having some success in the 2nd quarter.

Guess that makes you the clown.
Let me explain since some of you don’t like my response. Running the table would mean Tech would end the season with an 11-1 record, a spot in the ACCCG, a definite bowl, and a win over uga. Anyone who thinks we should fire a coach even after that is absolutely a clown. Anyone who even speculated that we should fire a coach after a season like that is a clown. Therefore, swamp sting has outed himself as a clown.

I am going off the fact our D is slow and poorly coached. I think we'll give up 45 to them.
Honest question, what makes you think we are slow? Poorly coached is still a possibilty, but I have seen improvements.

We all knew we were going to get beat up by Clemson. Ultimately that game meant nothing this year. A good showing Saturday is being in the game both score wise and mentally at the end of the game.
This is true. Pivotal game on Saturday.

I have seen plenty of times where our D has struggled to keep up. To add, poor angles, haven't helped either. Now, I will say this. Everyone is focused on the "big hit". I think that is 100% accredited to the NFL and ESPN. The simple wrap up type tackle is what is shown on TV. But, this is an issue, that happens, with all of college football. My observation comes from seeing us whiff on tackles, due to lack of speed or perhaps bad angles... Either way, it causes losses to turn into gains.

In a year where 6 wins is considered major progress, there is plenty of room for moral victories.

not one single player agrees. "Moral victories" are reserved for fans with low expectations. no coach or player is ever celebrating a loss as a moral victory.

seasons 1 & 2 was the time for moral victory performances. 6 wins was a baseline expectation for last season. 6 wins this season would be too little too late.

Nope. 6 wins this season and we go bowling - Collins will be back next year. The big donors said so themselves. One even said 5 wins would buy Collins another year.

I think the 5 win mark depends more on the schedule than on us. WCU was a given. Ole Miss and UCF were unknowns. UCF already lost at home to a bad Louisville. Ole Miss from last year would have beaten Troy soundly.

Then there is the ACC. Clemson looks no better than last year’s team. FSU looks better. No one in the coastal looks improved other than Miami. UVa at VT look significantly worse.

The five win threshold this year would be selling our program and players short.
