that's what happens when we win the bowl game, immediately move to the long wait for the next game...
That's awesome. My dad's side of the family are Tennessee folks and everyone up there loves the Vols. In my experience they know their football and don't have the same percentage of garbage fans as other SEC schools tend to. The average Georgia fan couldn't tell you whether they had a decent squad or not in a given year before the previous two or three seasons but UT fans can typically give you a good game summary of random match-ups from back in the 70's and 80's.I sat next to a 60yo and an 80yo Tennessee fan at the GT Wake game in 09. They drove to Atlanta to watch option football because they were old fans of the system.
Sorta neat.
I bet the same people also complain about the pussification of football.I just love how freaked out some of them are over cut blocks. One thinks the NCAA needs to look into it.
It seems like Tennessee is not doing that great recruiting:
We can rule out playing for championships.I have never understood the appeal of that cesspool.
Nope. The Dome is a gonner after the Falcon's season. It is the reason why Atlanta United will be playing its first games at GT. New stadium won't be ready for spring.
One last chance to tear it up, I suppose. They're still doing two rounds of MonsterJam per billboard I saw this evening, FWIW.
The Tennessee fans seem to have already bitten hard on the cut blocks. Readying their excuse for a loss. "We lost because of CUT BLOCKS WHAAAAAHHHH!!!!!"
Except they were the Champions of Life and we weren't.It's kinda interesting. You almost never see an OOC opponent with whom you have 4 shared opponents. So we have a lot of data points to compare Tennessee and GT's programs.
The VT outcomes were similar, and for similar reasons.
The Georgia outcomes were similar.
The Kentucky outcomes were similar.
We smashed Vandy and they lost to Vandy. That's really the only difference. And we ended with the same record.
GT and Tennessee on paper this year were pretty comparable teams.
I'm just fine being champions of our own stateExcept they were the Champions of Life and we weren't.

We ded.
Also, there are multiple posters calling this year's team "team 120" and next year's as "team 121" all when referring to themselves.
I was trying to figure what that meant. Wiki says they started football in 1891. If they played every year, that's 125. Anyone know? Is that a UT thing, to call it 'team 120' instead of the '16 team?
