Tennessee 2017

Times Free Press in Chattanooga speculates they may be even better next season. Injuries and good recruiting.

I predict we win by 21

Their recruiting has been good under Butch. But we've seen 4 and 5 star guys get beat before. Seems like it happened ... a little more than a month ago....

I really hope we can just build off a prior season. It seems we dont have an issue building off a certain win within a season to springboard such as the VT game this year. We just cant seem take take momentum from one year and carry it to next year. I want two 9 win seasons back to back. I said before this season we needed 9 wins for me personally to consider this a success. Got it! Now do it again. Its the only way to keep momentum recruiting.

Back to TN, I like UT. They hate UGA. I hate UGA. Simpatico. They have a ton ton if talent but they are all a bit entitled mostly because Butch comes off that way. They wont like our offense and are capable of folding like a cheap lawn chair. We are also inconsistent year to year and I dont think I have seen us play in a game with the attention this game will get opening game. Going to be tough. I think Butch is a bad coach in game. PJ is deginitely better.

We played in that bowl a while back I forget the name. Red bowl, yellow bowl, something like that.

Tennessee beat what I thought was a good Nebraska team in their bowl. We will have our hands full in the opener.

With Justin Thomas I'd have not problem believing. Without him, things could get tough. The loss of some key positions will be interesting, although Tennessee loses just about all of their offensive production. May wind up being one of those grind it out type of games where the 4th quarter Mills makes the difference. Either way, we are going to need a QB that can complete a 60% pass rate.

Moar!

Healthy mix of homerism and level heads. Not too different than us.

I started reading it and getting all incensed. Then I tried to imagine what other fans see when they read a thread on ST, and yeah, pretty much.

I do get so sick of hearing the cut block complaints every time we play a team for the first time. I wish I had the time or commitment to compile a video compilation of Tennessee using cut blocks. Not to mention knee/ankle injuries don't seem to be anymore common against us than other teams.

Kentucky was one of the most injury prone teams I can remember playing against, and even then, one of the replays showed the injured player getting pancaked (i.e. not cut blocked). I guess when you play in a soft division all year, it's a shock to play a tough team.
