This is what a paid for multi million dollar college team looks like

I suspect the amount of viewers outside of Georgia went down drastically as this disaster escalated. Hopefully this costs ESPN and their advertisers. They deserve it.
You’re always reasonable.

Don’t you just think TCU showed up unprepared and just plain ööööing quit?

This disaster should have been avoided.

We played those guys closer in Athens! We would have covered 14.5 tonight.

You won’t beat 4/5 star guys with mostly 3 star guys without another unique advantage, assuming the 4/5 star guys are coached decently. This isn’t 1990-2005 when the rankings weren’t very accurate. You can see a 4/5 star team give a game away, but they have a lot of room for error.

Lol what? These are Mike Leach air Raid disciples. That narrative was blown up and should never be brought up again

College football is fundamentally broken. The trophy goes to the highest bidder. Boring. For us the value will be in playing similar minded schools who value the education, college traditions, etc. The factories are going to essentially become minor league NFL teams where players will be making near NFL $$$ and not really being a STUDENT athlete.

it is my opinion that once a division is made between college athletics and whatever the factories are morphing into, we will wind up with a semi pro league that has teams who happen to be located near college campuses, and then an actual college football league that hopefully resembles the sport we knew 20 years ago. I truly hope we are in the latter league. NFL minor league has zero appeal to me

How is this different than 30-40 yrs ago?

My hope is one day the sport will return to amateurism and these years will be like the steroids era in baseball. UGA will then have asterisks next to their championships.

It’s also time to stop requiring that college football players be college students until there is better regulation of what each supposed school is doing to maintain minimum academic standards. Instead just have teams that are “associated” with colleges that want to participate. No academic requirements. Just make it a true nfl minor league like it already is for most factories like uga where athletes do mostly “online classes” and get an “education.”

While I understand it's fun if you're a dwag fan, it's hard to be particularly impressed. These two teams don't belong on the same field. This is what teams with UGA's talent should be doing to schools like TCU.
strange how TCU can go into Texas and control that game, then look like a bad HS team here. I suppose it's due to the difference in talent, but Texas had Bama beat early in the year too. Or the moment was too big for TCU and got headlights in their eyes

The typical mutt athlete was on full display last night in the Green Bay game. How fn stupid do you have to be shove the opposing teams med trainer after what happened the previous week. These are not student athletes
Thugs doing thug things... the second guy bumped the trainer as well... what a dbag

College basketball lost me after the one and dones. College football is beginning to lose me. I cut the cord a few years ago but would still get streaming services during football season. But clown spoiled that with the NIU loss. Cut my losses there and have never looked back.
and the Citadel loss - all part of raising the culture... to what I don't know - oh yea - back to the Curry years

That ship sailed long ago - probably closer to 50 years ago

uga perfectly represents everything that is wrong with cfb, maybe they just keep on winning natty’s until they completely kill the sport and history labels them as the one school that ruined it for everyone else. öööö ‘em.

You didn't have ESPN and NIKE deciding which teams win and which teams lose 30-40 years ago. Alumni dollars are a smaller part of the pot now. UGA isn't able to do what they are doing simply on their own fan and booster support.

The bright side is, all the mutts get to update their wardrobe. I know folks that I believe their only clothing is UGAg branded, with an occasional Harley Davidson thrown in.

I always preferred college football to NFL. However now the NFL does a better job of creating an interesting more entertaining contest of their teams. There is no way a Super Bowl will ever be a one sided debacle as we saw last night.

The only way to save college football is to turn it off. Everybody turn it off. Either go to the games or don’t watch at all. Saving the sport requires taking it back from these insane tv contracts.
I wonder what the TV ratings were for that game last night. Unless you are a Georgia fan it was a boring event that most people turned off by half time.

I heard TCU's HC had admitted that ugag was simply on another level. I suspect that sometime during the game, perhaps at halftime, and the team picked up on it from the coach and they soon collapsed.

Its going to be bad. Really bad. ESPN will probably have to pay back some of the advertisers for not hitting contractually guarantied viewership numbers.
The midwest audience is the only thing keeping college football viewership at a respectable level and the lack of UM or OSU meant last night needed to be a close game to keep it viable. UGA running up the score was like knee capping college football profitability last night.

Edit to add: I think its safe to say that the World Cup is going to lap last night as far as TV viewership goes. I never really considered the idea that international soccer would be a more popular sport than NCAA Football but that's where we are.

Good

SMU got the death penalty for trying too hard to play good football. For the good of the game the Mustangs were shut down. Their TCU neighbors made it to a national title game and lost 65-7. For the good of the game you have to do the right thing. Horned Frogs should get the death penalty. We should never be subjected to this again.
